No ifs and butters, I'm not buying it

Ugh, vile stuff....full of junk. Just have butter, but not so much of it. I only get to have toast at weekends, weekdays are porridge at my desk - the no added sugar variety.

Our Springers like to eat and roll about on dead seals......I'm not sure 'I can't believe its so good...for everything' would help the vile stench of dead seal on a dogs matted coat...

However, Its great for greasing cake tins, but not great on burnt toast! (Ooh I love real butter on burnt toast lol, sod the claims it gives you cancer!!)

Does anyone actually like this stuff? My sister used to insist she hated butter back in the day and would only eat the old block marge. There was a great Geordie word that described it perfectly - claggy.

Reminds me of the Alice character in Vicar of Dibley......."I can't believe it's not 'I Can't Believe It's Not Butter". I can't believe that they think a corny name change will boost sales. ?

I read once that margarine is a few molecules away from plastic, that it never goes off, and flies don't bother with it. A man on the radio said that his father was an industrial chemist, and had told him NEVER to eat margarine. That sent me scuttling back to the Lurpak unsalted, where I have remained ever since. Given that information, I wonder if 'I can't believe it's not plastic' might be a better name change.

How about: I Can't Believe People Will Buy Any of It?

I have returned to eating pure butter. At least we know what is in it, and it tastes much better.

Would the 'I can't believe....' stuff help my dog to walk again? If so, I'll bulk buy!

What do they put in spreadable butter that makes it spreadable?

When this came out in the US, we got fed up with the name and in our family shortened it to ICBM's (like the missile) vs a proper acronym of ICBINB. Gave us a chuckle till we discovered Benecol. Much better! For cooking I use unsalted butter.

Someone must have decided the word "not" was too negative.

Grey duster...we like President spreadable, which says "no vegetable oils", but still doesn't actually call itself butter. Looking at the ingredients, the spreadability is provided by some added cream, which I suppose is not technically butter....?.

Can't eat anything like that. Do like butter and will sometimes have it on bread.

We do use spreadable butter as well as the blocks. Country Life is just butter, salt and rapeseed oil (which we use anyway). But I might give that President spreadable a try.

Cherrytree our terrier would sometimes be sick then 'tidy it up again' if I didn't stop him.

I don't remember him liking butter or 'not butter'; he did like swede and carrot though.

Tried the flat foot remedy rosesarered and now DH is very very cross because I have got grease on the new carpet.

Jalima our terrier would do this too. As well as eating cow pats, horses and foxes poo. Utterly disgusting but I miss him so much.

I too will try President, we have Country Life and my DH is a Clover lover.

And the spaniel would roll in cow pats
