Oh that made me laugh out loud haha. I wouldn't have been quick enough to think on my feet like that. Well done you.

If you still have the number it is worth reporting it. Put the phone number into google and a number of sites come up that keep records. If they don't have that particular number, report it there. Phone companies check these sites and modern phones put up a warning that the number has been reported so people can decide whether to answer it.

I'm another one who lets them ramble on for a bit. I listen while playing Candy Crush or similar, then tell them I haven't got a computer. I don't get so many calls these days!

I can't wait for my next nuisance call. I think I'll tell them that they're through to a sex-line and they're being charged £20 per minute!

We had a similar call. I handed the phone to hubby. He went along with it and said his computer was already switched on. The young man asked what he could see. Hubby then described some very pornographic pictures! (No he doesn't really watch that) He was told to do something very strange with his willy and the phone call was ended.

I played the slightly dumb innocent for about five minutes, asking who he was, several times, and what was he saying about computers? 'Then told him I hadn't got one! Stunned silence, phone went down.

One day when feeling short tempered I let rip; in response to 'I am working for Miscrosoft' I responded 'and you are a crook - p* off'. that did it, too.

I try to keep callers talking for as long as possible (for sport) and then say 'wait a moment please I'll go and get matron', this only works in the UK...foreigners get 'my son is a policeman and was on night duty, I'll get him up and ask him to come to the phone'.

It isn't aerobic but it is fun.

When we get calls like this my DH nsnwers with "I havent got a computer, they are the work of the devil etc etc...". Surprise surprise they ring off

these have made me laugh.. I had one some time ago, same thing my computer had been hacked and they were from Microsoft and needed to take control of it so they could repair it. I said "oh how kind of you to let me know and said I would get my SiL to look at it as he works for Microsoft, the phone went down in a hurry.... the very next day I had the same call, I politely asked was it the same problem they had phoned me about before. Stupid F**ing Stupid said the voice at the other end... not sure if he was referring to himself or me!

Well his suggestion is a very difficult thing to do .

When I got one of these calls recently I started making agitated noises about how terrible it was that my poor computer wasn't working and eventually said that I was too upset to deal with it, pretended to burst into tears and put the phone down.

I've also used the stern "Does your mother know how you're making a living?" line, which is no good for nuisance sales calls, but I feel is justified for the computer scam ones.

I answered my stepmum's phone yesterday and a 'gentleman' asked to speak to my Dad. I asked why and he said he was from Microsoft and Dad had paid him to look after his computer. I explained very firmly that Dad had died and he shouldn't ring the number again and hung up.
He called back right away (same number) so I answered and asked why he was calling back to which he replied ' You f*****g b**ch woman' and hung up!
So please that I was correct about his motives!!!
Could be the same person kitty!!!

I love stringing them along if I m not doing anything much, I ve had a lot of fun with them before they realise and snap the phone down, I ve had two today but they just put the phone down before we got started, not nearly as much fun

Telephone Preference Service rude words

Ah yes something wrong with the computer. Standard reply " I am so glad you called I will get the operations manager to speak to you as we have 13 computers on line and you can help him". DH will usually string them along for up to 20 minutes.

I have better things to do with my time so most cold callers are told "Telephone Preference Service *"

Sorry to be so rude but I can let off steam!

I had a young lady with an Indian type accent call me the other day with the same line. She claimed to be from Microsoft. I strung her along for a bit, then told her I had a Mac (not true) but she just kept on with the script insisting I had to let her control my computer because there was something MS had to correct.
About this time I started laughing and couldn't keep it up, so I put the phone down.

What a shame it wasn't one of those calls where you're asked to spare two minutes at the end rating their customer care.

My son in law who is a computer buff, had one of these 'callers' on line for 15 minutes, before the caller realised he was talking to someone who knew probably more than he (my sil) did. The response was I believe similar to yours Kitty. I just say, sorry I do not have a computer.
