Anyone who has noticed that she hasn't posted for a while might not be surprised to learn that she's unable to receive PMs.

We all know what that means.

OK, let's stop being coy and cryptic and spell out neutrally some things that have been referred to.

To recap this thread - Ankers shifted the thread onto cliques and listed several names she thought were a clique, presumably the one to re-instate Jings, as that was the trigger for this thread. The only connection between the names was that all of them posted on a previous thread that they thought Jings was guilty of some unwise comments from time to time but should not have been banned for reacting to the abuse she got for her horrified post about the Aleppo bombing. There may have been more behind the ban than that, of course

She mentioned me as leader of the mythical "clique" and said another poster had said that I led a clique. That can only be because of a thread a little while ago by someone who was aggrieved at the comments about the blog she mistakenly posted uninvited on a topic reserved for invited bloggers. I think she labelled me the leading, most prolific and vitriolic poster on the forum, or some such thing.

One of Ankers' later comments on here implied that she didn't quite understand the meaning of "clique" and had not meant it to be derogatory. Ankers has shown in the short time she has been on Gransnet that she sometimes doesn't understand a post and asks for it to made clearer.

A parallel could be drawn (and it has been drawn, obliquely and directly) with the posters soontobe and obieone who often asked for an explanation of an unfamiliar word or a complicated post, and with other characteristics of the posts of those two users.

Ankers seems to have stopped posting now.

On this thread, yes, but she's posted on other threads today.

Well summed up, Elegran.

Elegran Sat 14-Jan-17 14:11:21

Now no-one need feel that they don't know what is going on - which is a big part of that feeling that cliques are talking secretly about things and excluding others.

Maybe we can now let go of this thread and get on with life?

mcem Sat 14-Jan-17 14:24:20

Which is why I posted at 9.31 as I felt it was rude to leave someone out in the cold when they'd specifically asked what was going on.
I agree that yet another thread is in danger of become toxic because of the circular arguments around a couple of posters and as I said last night Let it Go.
I'm out!

Lona Sat 14-Jan-17 14:27:00

Stating the facts Elegran in your usual, articulate manner, only works when members read all the previous posts! We know that rarely happens, so expect more questioning posts. wink

Izabella Sat 14-Jan-17 14:36:56

There are vacancies in my clique which I am thinking of forming after tea. It is specifically for those who don't have a b**** clue what is going on. These who neither know nor care ........

I might even be tempted to dive back into pedants corner at this rate (only joking!!). ?

Elegran Sat 14-Jan-17 14:43:29

Lona If anyone stumbles on the thread and starts to post in ignorance of the earlier posts, just copy my recap and post it in where it is needed.

sunseeker Sat 14-Jan-17 14:45:10

I will join your clique Izabella grin. I always seem to click on a thread when it is halfway through all the bickering and the thought of reading through pages and pages of back and forth comments makes me lose the will to live! So can I be in the don't know don't care section of your clique.

Elegran Sat 14-Jan-17 14:45:18

Izabella Your clique for those who haven't a clue what it is all about will be so full that it will outnumber the non-cliquers.

merlotgran Sat 14-Jan-17 14:49:53

My advice to the 'don't know, don't care' clique would be to visit a thread where you 'do know and do care' what's going on.

Simples!

Izabella Sat 14-Jan-17 14:53:32

Absolutely merlotgran and indeed I have. I just felt a bit left out that's all!! Over and out.

soop Sat 14-Jan-17 14:58:26

Elegran flowers

Ceesnan Sat 14-Jan-17 14:59:00

If you join a clique do you get a badge? And a copy of The Rules?

kittylester Sat 14-Jan-17 15:14:26

Really good post, as usual, Elegran. if you do form a clique, please may I be in it?

kittylester Sat 14-Jan-17 15:16:12

Just for the record - I think jings should be allowed back!

Elrel Sat 14-Jan-17 15:27:47

The people who were asking about Tegan will be pleased to know that she's fine on Facebook. She's just not currently posting here.

NanKate Sat 14-Jan-17 16:26:08

I agree with you Kitty I would like jing back. Perhaps she will sneak in under the cover of darkness with a new name such as Handbells or TinkleTinkle smile

kittylester Sat 14-Jan-17 16:29:36

And, if she does, hopefully no-one will grass her up! That's pathetic - no-one likes a tell-tale-tit! grin

Ana Sat 14-Jan-17 16:30:55

Why should she bother any more? There's no way she's going to be allowed to stay, even the most determined would lose heart eventually.

sad

Christinefrance Sat 14-Jan-17 16:32:44

I will join you too Izabella , one rule, no mention of jbfshock

Lona Sat 14-Jan-17 16:34:46

Ana and Kitty Perhaps we should all join her on Twitter! wink

NanKate Sat 14-Jan-17 16:39:02

Oh I haven't heard that expression for yonks Kitty.

Does it go like this ?

Tell-tale tit
Your tongue will split
And all the little birds will have a little bit

Or something like that. I stand to be corrected.

FarNorth Sat 14-Jan-17 16:40:09

Maybe jingls was told exactly why she was banned and exactly how long for, but has been re-banned for sneaking back before the end of the ban?
(I'm in the slightly nosey but still confused clique.)

aggie Sat 14-Jan-17 16:40:59

tell tale tit , your mother can't knit and your Granny had a fit

merlotgran Sat 14-Jan-17 16:43:07

Sadly, I have to agree with Ana. Those of us who guessed jingl had managed to sneak under the wire were reluctant to reply to her posts in a way we would have done in the past for fear of exposing her true ID. She was very much a watered down version of her usual style.

And Christinefrance. If you wish to impose a no mention of jbf rule, what the heck are you doing on here?
