Anyone who has noticed that she hasn't posted for a while might not be surprised to learn that she's unable to receive PMs.

We all know what that means.

Not a clique Jane10 "sharing an opinion on one issue (or even two) does not a clique make. "
I respect Elegran and her carefully considered views (and have had occasion to fall foul of them) and it troubles me to see mud being slung with no regard for the named people's feelings.
It is too easy to accuse people of being in a gang or a clique just because they do not necessarily share one's views.

Elegran Mon 16-Jan-17 11:37:47

That is all it takes, Jane to be accused of being a cligue! Just have to post a similar reaction to a conspiracy theory.

We'd better watch out when we post about meeting Anya during the Fringe - obviously we will use the occasion to plot our next nefarious conspiracy against an innocent victim.

Elegran Mon 16-Jan-17 11:39:15

Forgot to add the grin grin to show that previous post was a joke.

Elegran Mon 16-Jan-17 11:39:50

Jane's was a joke.

Jane10 Mon 16-Jan-17 11:40:33

Are you sure...hmm

Anya Mon 16-Jan-17 11:40:49

I wasn't included in Ankers clique Eiegran sad ... does this mean I can be in Your Gang now? ???

trisher Mon 16-Jan-17 11:42:42

If you're all playing the clique game again I demand to join in or I'm going to tell teacher.

Elegran Mon 16-Jan-17 11:45:55

Wait and see, Jane grin. (starts on secret agenda for meeting with anya - hmmm, who to pick on?)
NOTE TO ANYONE WHO THINKS I MEAN IT - THIS POST IS A JOKE!!!!!!

Elegran Mon 16-Jan-17 11:49:14

Trisher You were at one of the meet-ups in Edinburgh, so if there really IS a clique, you must be in it already. Glassortwo has been present at several, and is on ankers' little list too, so what does that say about HER? though I don't know how she finds the time.

Anya Mon 16-Jan-17 11:49:41

Seriously though Ankers any clannish tendencies you might think exist on GN is probably because many of us have been around for so long that we sort of feel we know each other, even if we haven't met (yet).

There are friendship groups, there are people we feel we understand, some we don't 'get', some who rub us up the wrong way. There are those we agree with on one thread, and totally disagree with on another. Wild accusations, or unfairness, may well bring someone out to defend another. This isn't a clique.

You obviously enjoy (need?) the discussions and interaction that an Internet forum offers or you wouldn't keep coming back for more. So perhaps if you tried to ignore those who seek to provoke you and think twice about what you post, you will find things easier.

i ought to take my own advice more!

Elegran Mon 16-Jan-17 11:54:26

The ability to see yourself objectively and a sense of humour to laugh at the foibles of yourself and others, and deflect feelings of being got at, are also useful on a site where you are chatting with many different types of people.

Jane10 Mon 16-Jan-17 11:57:44

Anya says it all.

kittylester Mon 16-Jan-17 12:03:30

That's a really good post Anya!

harrigran Mon 16-Jan-17 12:20:08

Well said Anya.

Iam64 Mon 16-Jan-17 12:57:37

Yes well said Anya.
Am I the only one who felt deva vu (again) when reading the list of misdemeanours she attributes to thatbags. gathering information about posters ....

POGS Mon 16-Jan-17 13:20:54

I have tried to keep out of this argument but I can't help remember Granjura posted this.

granjura Tue 15-Nov-16 09:51:19
All I can say before logging off for a very looong time-

granjura Tue 15-Nov-16 10:57:14
Logging off for real this time. Toodle pip.

Not for the first time nor probably the last will Granjura be posting but it will be up to her surely.

soop Mon 16-Jan-17 13:32:17

Wise words, Anya

trisher Mon 16-Jan-17 13:36:40

Oh well as long as I'm in it that's OK - Thanks Elegran.
I've never been in a clique before, is it like the Secret Seven? and do we have a secret knock/hand signal/password?
Thanks for the balanced posts, sometimes things get a bit surreal.

kittylester Mon 16-Jan-17 13:47:25

I suspect the last few posts will prove that there is a clique! grin

Elegran Mon 16-Jan-17 13:48:30

To those who believe it already, yes. grin

ffinnochio Mon 16-Jan-17 14:04:41

I don't belong to any cliques. I do enjoy friendships. It would only be others that define such friendships as cliques.

Bellasnana Mon 16-Jan-17 14:08:35
