This works very well should you be troubled by an obscene phone caller too. As I once was in my distant youth. He ended up slamming the phone down in a huff.

I would have moved!

Very difficult when some yobbo shoves their face up to yours and yells at you isn't it. So rude too. I think pretending to be deaf might have done the job. 'Sorry dear I cannot hear you, deaf you see! A big sigh would have completed the job. It isn't always the right thing these days to say anything because it gives them an excuse to say you offended them. One man I know went to the upstairs flat because of the noise of the music and stomping about on his ceiling. The door was opened by a stroppy 15 year old girl who shoved her face up to his and mouthed off at the top of her voice. He shoved her away and because of that the police were called and he ended up with a charge of 'assaulting a minor'! Be careful because you never know what might happen where yobs are concerned. They know how to play the system. Good outcome though, the family was evicted.

A good old PUNCH ON THE NOSE might have shut her up but you could have been charged with assault. Message for the day! Always travel with a book or magazine to hide in.

I'm just wondering what would have happened if you had burst out laughing in her face. Not easy to do, but she might have looked quite funny if you looked at her that way.
