Any ex-Girl Guides on here?

I would have loved to have been a Brownie or a guide but my mother just had no interest in sending me although my broth became a Queen's Scout and went to Windsor Castle . Both my daughters were brownies and Guides and Venture Scouts. But their children no.

When I went for my cookery badge I was asked - What would you do with left over food? I, quite truthfully, said 'give it to the cat' I got the badge, but I think the lady just wanted to get rid of me!

I visited that jamboree at Sutton Park. I was a guide in the 1st Lichfield group.

I broke a piece of China when I did my cook's badge. The tester (a man who was a chef) said it was irreplaceable. Why would you trust a 13 year old Guide with irreplaceable China? It was all very embarrassing.

I am left wondering how on earth I got my Child Nurse badge. I think my neighbour must have lent me a child for just long enough for her to survive my attention. I knew a girl from another company who made the national (well, Scottish) headlines for having gained every available proficiency badge as well as being a Queen's Guide. I never knew when she found the time!
