Identity Parade

When in his late teens, my son was a regular on police ID parades. It was a nice little earner at £10 a time!
I suppose he looked a bit of a villain in his youth. ?

There are some police stations everywhere open all night. Crime doesn't stop at 5pm, neither does policing.

Perhaps the witness doing the identification can only be there at 10.30 pm?

lesleylogan has said that she has checked and is all above board, and that her house will not be empty and vulnerable while she is away. I don't think there is any need for anyone to be worried.

DS was once stopped and questioned by police when a girl was assaulted outside our local shops. When a report appeared in the paper the description of the assailant bore no resemblance to DS at all. He was a bit worried because apart from looking quite different he had no alibi at all.

Yeh hopefully Penstemmon. Felt physically sick earlier on about the thought I would need to stand in a line up with others there and possibly be picked out which may be all in the head.

The whole thing doesnt seem right to me. I suppose what I am thinking is that police stations around this area have all been closed, so I am surprised that there is one open so to speak at 10.30pm!

Don't worry lesleylogan they presumably have the key suspect in detention and are looking for additional evidence to convict!

Well they were really nice about it and explained the situation properly. They only commented that I fitted the description etc.

I agreed to it as apart from wanting to help I thought if I declined it would make me look a bit suspicious.

I'm very surprised the police officers told you that you looked like/resembled a woman who had committed a serious offence recently.

That could have seriously affected someone with mental health or confidence issues.

Hopefully not and the process is all relatively done ASAP.

Yes might sound a strange time though all is fine, definetly not the way I would have liked to have been spending a Saturday night of course.

When I posted originally I was more worried about being picked out wrongly and having to spend the night in a police station as you never know what can happen though some people will think I am silly lol

Yes my daughter is driving me up there while my husband and his brother will be my house. No need to worry at all in that sense.

Id parades are sometimes held late in the evenings, if you have already checked and are happy with timing you will be doing a public service.

I know you have said it is at your local police station but have you actually telephoned them to confirm the details. It does seem a very unusual time to ask you to come in. I am concerned that they could be tricking you into leaving your home. If you haven't telephoned to confirm please do so or we will all worry
