Lyrics you hate

Last Christmas I gev you my heart - love the song but that bit drives me nuts!

I agree with all these examples - especially BandAid.

The one I find not at all romantic and in fact rather macabre is:

"Every time you go away
You take a piece of me with you"

Yuk!

Lovely Day - to my ears that last note is awful and goes on forever, and every shop seems to play the song from January to September.

Anya I agree and I think Sting himself said something similar about it being about stalking

I agree about Live and Let Die as I always hear it as "world in which we live in" but the lyrics are really "world in which we're living" which makes more sense

I always thought the Sting song was creepy especially when you bear in mind he used to be a teacher!

Jalima there was a rowdy party at a marina we stayed in in Orillia, Ontario.
The party people sang it with gusto, but MrA and I, not having been invited, were lying in our bunk reading our kindles. It did lighten up our Sunday evening though

Lellyb - I feel the same about "Gently on my mind". The singer takes on no responsibilities and only loves the woman because he is unencumbered by her. How immature and selfish. Grrrr!

I think some of you are being unfairly judgemental.

Perhaps the songwriter wrote the song after realising the error of his/her ways.

I love m You Were Always On My Mind if sung by Willie Nelson, but admit I would listen to God Save The Queen if he sang it

I like both songs...you were always on my mind ,and gentle on my mind, both rather nice.I also like the Sting one.
