I think they are planning a surprise party or meal out and they haven't forgotten at all, I hope thats what it is anyway.

I would be devastated if my birthday was forgotten, despite it being 10th January!!!! Having said that, my son shares the same birthday and always forgets to send /give me a card! I always celebrate by going out to dinner/lunch.....in fact this year my husband and I are going to Spain to celebrate and today we have been out to lunch with another friend whose birthday is 9th and I won't be here for that! Anyway, hope by now someone has remembered but a very happy unbirthday to you!

My daughter's birthday is 20th December, my grandson's 1st january (probably when he's older he will celebrate on New Year's Eve) and my son is the 6th January !!! I follow on in February

I missed my daughter's birthday this year as I completely forgot what the date was that day. She was really upset as nobody else apart from her husband remembered. I was very apologetic but can't quite get my head round whilst my son didn't make a sneaky phone call or text when he saw how upset she was getting. I had everything ready, just hadn't remembered.

Sorry you had such an awful day instead of a day of heartfelt celebrations.

It is DH 69th birthday today. I did remember & had organised card and gift en masse with Christmas pressie! He arranged a lunch out with a few of our close friends and the DDs and DGCs came for cake after school.... but it is tough having a birthday anytime within two weeks of Xmas! I have tried to persuade DH to have an alternative birthday in June but he did not like the idea!

Happy belated birthday Chris.?. My birthday is December and although family have never forgotten I do feel that it is something extra for them to fit in at such a busy time, and not so much thought goes into it. Perhaps we should have an official birthday midsummer.
Hope you get to celebrate at the weekend.

My birthday is New Year's Eve and I remember clearly the occasion when I was about 12 or 13 when my parents forgot my birthday. 50 years later and I make sure my family remembers!

Oh Chris sorry that your family are so thoughtless. Perhaps you need to "forget" their next birthdays. If they ask how could you forget their birthday I'd be giving them a quizzical look and saying "oh I thought we weren't doing birthdays anymore as you all ignored my 60th!!!"
As for the poster that said all men are a bit on the spectrum, that's a load of crap. Funny how men can function in their job and remember crucial things eh! I suggest you read "wifework". It will open your eyes.

I've been thinking about this and if they are planning a 'suprise '. they still could have called or at least sent a card on the day. If nothing happens by the weekend I think you should speak to them all and let them know , calmly ,how upsetting you found it.

I think it's terrible to forget your birthday Chris especially as it's your 60th.

Why don't you buy yourself a luxury weekend break at a spa and just begger off without telling them. Just leave a note saying 'see you in a couple of days'

Sorry Chris but I've only just seen this as my computer has been playing up, but I would have liked to wish you a very happy birthday.

My eldest son's birthday is Christmas Eve, mine on 27th, my daughter's on 28th and a grandson's on 2nd Jan then a whole 8 days without any birthdays until a grandson's on 2nd January and another son's on 10th Jamuary. I'm glad to say that we do all remember (with a little judicious prodding from me) but I have always felt sorry for No. 1 son as Christmas Eve is the worst possible time, with everyone rushing around doing last minute errands.

It's too late for this year of course, but you might like to use my method next year. I never gave my husband the chance of forgetting birthdays or anniversaries. A short while beforehand I would say things like "It makes me feel quite old that I will be * next week." or "It seems incredible that we will have been married for * years on 24th May".

I wonder if Chris will come back and tell us how things went.

Hi all, well weekend come and gone and nothing. I did not mention anything incase as suggested may have been a surprise party. Have actually got over it now and moved on as been really busy.I am sure they will all suddenly remb at some point and will feel bad. I will let you know.
