Without her none of us would be on here chatting, supporting, arguing and setting the world to rights.

In the 2017 honours list she is appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to the economy.

Bellsisabelle brewcupcake and flowers of course
For your audience with Camilla.

Elegran Tue 03-Jan-17 17:06:19

I don't think Justine has anything to do with Gransnet at the moment. I could be wrong.

Riverwalk Tue 03-Jan-17 16:56:03

Camilla? I'm sure she's busy in Sandringham.

bellsisabelle Tue 03-Jan-17 16:50:27

I second the motion that Justine should be approached re jinglbellsfrocks. smile And if that fails, perhaps Camilla.

It says MN employed eighty people, in 2013. Probably more now, and plus GN crew. Still doesn't sound a lot really.

bellsisabelle Tue 03-Jan-17 16:45:39

This. "All this shows that Mumsnet, which this year expects to have sales of more than £5m,"

What sales. Advertising space? How does that...

I still don't get it.

thatbags Tue 03-Jan-17 16:40:39

Doesn't creating jobs help the economy? Mumsnet and Gransnet employ people.

bellsisabelle Tue 03-Jan-17 16:37:07

No!!! That's something I googled earlier. Wait...

bellsisabelle Tue 03-Jan-17 16:36:32

Yes. I have read that article before. But, no. It doesn't enlighten. (I'm sorry. I know I'm thick)

From the article "McLaggan Smith 'Mummy Bear' Mug"

Lisalou Tue 03-Jan-17 16:19:32

Maybe this article can enlighten on the economy bit?

Is she back Riverwalk ?

Riverwalk Tue 03-Jan-17 15:58:44

er, NanKate - I think you missed something grin

NanKate Tue 03-Jan-17 15:49:54

Congratulations from me too. I have met physically and via GN some lovely ladies/women/gals/ guys.

I wonder if Justine would see her way clear now to re-establishing Jinglebells for 2017. Offering an olive branch to our naughty girl of the fifth form, in Enid Blyton style. grin I do hope so.

bellsisabelle Tue 03-Jan-17 15:37:24

Elegran! I thought you'd know!

Elegran Tue 03-Jan-17 15:31:33

Maybe it is just shorthand for "doesn't fit any of the other categories (sport, the arts etc) but hasn't the girl done well" ?

bellsisabelle Tue 03-Jan-17 15:13:15

There must be someone clever out there.

Or perhaps even Justine??? smile

bellsisabelle Tue 03-Jan-17 15:12:11

Is anyone else still racking their brains about this? (the economy thing)

I wish someone could explain.

(I'm not saying she doesn't deserve it. That's not my point at all. Just - how has Mumsnet helped the economy.

Pleeease. It's driving me mad.

merlotgran Sat 31-Dec-16 21:11:17

They're wasting their money then. All we do is moan about them. grin

TriciaF Sat 31-Dec-16 20:39:23

Congratulations from me too - Well done!

glammanana Sat 31-Dec-16 20:03:55

Congratulations to Justine, maybe the "Economy" means the amount of funds made by Companies selling advertising that runs along side our discussions that is all I could think off at the minute.

rubysong Sat 31-Dec-16 20:01:24

Well done Justine. Thank you for Gransnet.

merlotgran Sat 31-Dec-16 19:40:36

I don't get the economy bit either but didn't like to say in case I appeared thick to have missed the point.

glassortwo Sat 31-Dec-16 19:38:25

Congratulations.
