What was your favourite present ?

Thingmajig that made me laugh out loud. But what a sweet thought.

Earrings & matching necklace of unpolished diamonds. So unusual.I had seen them some time ago & DH remembered. Lovely but best gift is having the DOC here & enjoying their pleasure.

No presents other thsn those I bought myself ....one being a silver watch with a pale pink face to replace my favourite similar one that broke !!

What I thought were silver stud earrings but DH then told me they were actually white gold - they really are lovely. I also had a great present from our granddaughters - Nanny's great big Sudoku book which will give me several hours (days) of entertainment.

Lovely smelling candle which I will find very hard to use, simple beautiful box are my favourites but other little things which I love too. Would love a nature camera but years later still wanting, guess they are still too expensive.

Family photo calendar from one son and DIL, they seem to find photos I haven't seen before. Granny's boasting calendar as it's referred to. DD has bought tickets for herself and I to see Swan Lake at the Lyceum in Sheffield in a couple of weeks. It's performed by a Russian company and since I haven't seen classical ballet for years it will be a real treat for me. She did offer her ticket to DH but he declined!

A decanter for gin, inscribed with a message including my name supplied with a bottle of Bombay Sapphire!

Are we such lucky gransnetters.

Hi, my daughter bought me a window stool. I had once admired her one...I can sit on it by the radiator..

My DS1 and DD clubbed together and bought me two tickets to see Bryan Adams in the summer. DS2 gave me a tumble dryer.
It's hard to choose a favourite!!!

My favourite gift was the Ted Baker coat my OH bought me. But close after was the 2nt European hotel voucher from DS1. Half the fun is now deciding where to go hmmmmm decisions decisions

Unheard of for me to receive jewellery from my sons. This year from eldest I had a silver stacking bracelet with Mum on a heart charm, and card with lovely message. First time he's been home from Oz for 8 years, he's going back in January, so this will be treasured.

Had four, they are so beautiful and unusual.
They will look lovely hanging in the garden
After DGC have filled them up.
Think the birds will also be very happy

My daughter reduced me to happy tears with a beautiful wooden photo book that she had lovingly filled with photos of family. There is room for a few more in the back & I look forward to filling it at leisure ?

My favourite present this year, is the one I bought myself! A Gtech Air Am! Perfect for the little Granny annex that I am finally installed in!

That's easy for me - I only really had one present - a lovely colourful leather satchel from all the family. I am delighted with it.

My favourite present this year is a rotating yarn holder. Splendid thing, keeps my yarn beside me instead of it wandering across the sofa and off over the floor. I also like the work basket containing some lovely scented candles.

My best present was spending the day with all my children/grandchildren/sister/s-in-l's and hubby. All my other presents were lovely but there were two stand out ones. A picture from eldest daughter which was a balloon and string made up of words and names to do with being a granny. All my grandchildrens names were in it, plus the word granny, then words such as caring, hugs, kisses, thoughtful, strong, and so on. Brought a tear to my eye when I first saw it! Then hubby got me a lovely heart shaped necklace with a lovely stone on one side and a picture of a black lab on the other which looks just like our boy. All my other pressies were lovely as well, was feeling a very spoiled lady yesterday!

My best present by far was a solid uninterrupted 9 hours sleep last night. I've only been able to sleep in short bursts since my knee disaster replacement. Having to sleep on my back led to white nights bemoaning my parasitic state (having to rely on others so much and not being able to contribute much). Anyway I feel so much better for it. It may have been the result of some lovely and unaccustomed bubbly but I'm not complaining. Thank you God!

Of course all family presents are wonderful, but the set of reprint Chalet School books that my husband ordered specially was such a thoughtful gift. Soooo takes me back to my schooldays.
Are there many other " 60 something " gransnetters out there who just loved the exploits of the Chalet School girls ?
Who, if nothing else, were incredibly fertile -- all those twins and triplets !

Not material but the news that my 9 month old grandson has beaten cancer. He had major surgery 19 days ago and the pathology results came through just before Christmas that it was stage 1 and has not spread. So only 4 more chemo sessions and then on to three monthly check ups for three years. No present could match this news.

Regalo, that must have been wonderful news. Asper, I too loved the Chalet school series. My favourite present was a lovely print from DD to hang on the wall at our new house.
