Christmas weep

I try to think of Christmas Day as a normal day and I can do what I like when I like so that I do not sit and think about happier times.

Reading some of the threads on GN brings me close to tears at times.

I will be spending Christmas alone and I am missing my late DH and my family who all live in Australia. I know I will have a little cry tomorrow morning but then will remember all good times we had at Christmas in the past. I think it is perfectly normal to miss those we can't be with at this time of year for all those who will be alone tomorrow

I am missing my pregnant daughter. Even though the rest of the family is here or will be, and I feel a bit selfish for it, I, like you OP, am missing people.
For me, I think part of it is because she is pregnant and about to give birth too.

I watched some stupid advert last night on tv I think it was Tesco about a Grandma whose family suddenly appeared behind a Tesco lorry from Australia it made me bawl and I know 'IT WAS ONLY AN ADVERT NOT REAL LIFE'just made me think of my sons little family so far away who we will only see on Facetime.
