This morning I was expecting a Sainsbury's delivery. When it didn't turn up I waited nearly an hour before phoning the helpline to find out where on earth it was.
I was told it had been left next door with my grandson. Yes, they live next door but why leave it there????
I trotted up the garden path and hammered on the back door. It was 11.30 so still the middle of the night for an eighteen year old. When I finally roused him he was pleased to tell me he'd got my delivery and he'd even remembered to put the frozen gateau in the freezer.
So.....Instead of pointing the delivery driver in my direction (just a few yards down the drive) he moved their Christmas tree and all that sails in her away from the front door which they hardly ever use - that's why the Christmas tree had been put up in front of it. Using the kitchen door, of course, would of been a more sensible option but he didn't think of that.
Did he ring or message me to let me know where my shopping had turned up? Of course not. He went back to bed!!
He's a lovely lad, just home from Uni where he's studying politics and when he grows up he wants to join the Intelligence Service
Ann Droid, anyone watched this? BBC 1
