Kitty do stay away from your mum until the norovirus has left the inmates. My sister had something similar when she came to stay with me. Our best efforts of keeping everywhere clean and sanitised didn't work for me and I caught it too - absolutely dire.

My MIL has advanced Alzheimers, bedridden with everything that goes along with that, lies with her eyes closed. She's been like this for at least 8 years now.
But hold a piece of chocolate in front of her, and she opens her mouth like a baby bird 
They really are enigmas, these long-suffering mothers.
