Little things that have made you happy today

Waiting in a queue yesterday while there was confusion at the check out, a lady behind me had one article, so I asked her if she would like to go in front of me, she was really grateful, and thanked me as she paid and left the store, such a simple thing, but it made me happy.

JL have just fitted new integrated washing machine, despite humming and ahhing that the back was different shape from the old one and it might not get in! It's a tight fit, but done! So relieved.

Word of warning; the dimensions might be the same, but the shape at the back matters to the position of pipe work.

Seeing green shoots appear on my carefully nurtured hyacinths as per the RHS site. I am hoping they will bloom for Christmas.

And of course thoughts of my DGCs.

Going into Costa with my youngest daughter and chilling out with a hot chocolate and cappuccino. We sat and watched the world go by and decided that if we were ever millionaires we would do it more often plus a cake. So nice to just sit as we are always rushing about doing various jobs or having to be somewhere.

dropping a parcel off at the local co-op and finding that the courier is running late so it will go today rather than tomorrow. It really is little things that make one happy.

A lovely Christmas lunch with my knit and natter group. Lots of laughs - a few tears - but having friends to share with is so lovely. Making new friends when retired is so worth the effort. We share our problems, advise each other, but always enjoy our time together

I won a prize on Gransnet! Yippee, and as they are the adult ISpy books I will have plenty of smiles when they arrive. Thank you so much.

Finding a pendant I thought I had lost in my coat pocket. So happy that I have found it as it has sentimental value.

Meeting up for a pre-Christmas meal with retired colleagues. We still all get on well together just as we did when working.

Getting lots of hugs from the people who have been attending the Living Well With Dementia course as it was the last one today - and they liked the cake!!

Met up with a friend for lunch today

Had a long chat on the phone with an ex-colleague I haven't seen for ages. Arranged for her and her DH to come to lunch!

After a good few years met up with a friend who is in residential care and suffering from dementia as well as other impairments. AND.......she recognised me. Such joy!

Going to the dress rehearsal of GD's Nativity play followed by taking GS2and GD shopping for their siblings and parents for Christmas. An absolute joy.

I went to a Christmas lunch for our National Trust volunteers today and spent the time with my really lovely volunteer friends. Nice day.

Emilie we can but hope They closed the branch in our town, even though it was the last Bank. We have to go 8 miles to a larger town for the privilege.

GS3 (6) goes to a circus skills class every Tuesday night. Today his group put on a presentation. He's actually quite good, but more than that it came across how much he loves it and how proud he was to show us what he could do [proud nana emoticon]

Some lovely posts that made me smile. It's not the big things is it? These are far and few, but the little day to day pleasant moments that mean so much.
