Our local NatWest plays hideous music, really loudly. I really hate going in there, but had promised to pay some money into my son's account.
I was dreading it - but I opened the door and ...silence. I was so excited that for once it was just like a Bank and not Primani!
It made my day.

We visited my niece this afternoon and then DD and GS turned up too, which was a lovely surprise. My niece is GS's honorary granny smile.

Singing carols in our local National Trust property this afternoon with our choir. Good audiences and lovely biscuits with our tea.

Finding an old cross stitch Christmas card that was made by my late SIL. She was always sat with her cross stitch patterns. One to keep I think.

My daughter got an early Christmas present, an engagement ring..she's been a single Mum for over 10yrs and I'm so pleased she'll have someone to share day to day life.

annsixty Fri 23-Dec-16 19:04:58

I would love that for my D tanith. Many happy years together for them.

Falconbird Fri 23-Dec-16 19:54:43

Signs of a reconciliation between my 3 adult sons today, who fell out big time when my dh died in 2012. The signs are like the first glimpse of snowdrops in the spring, delicate, but definitely there.

It hasn't happened yet but our youngest son who we haven't seen in 7 months is home and on his way to stay a few days. I've just realised how much I've missed him. Just seeing him in the flesh will make my day and my Christmas.

morethan2 Fri 23-Dec-16 20:07:37

Oh Falconbird that wins mine. It's fabulous news. I bet your heart is singing.

Falconbird Fri 23-Dec-16 20:22:15

THANKS morethan2 it's all very tentative but the signs are there - good news about your son. tchsmile

Bought whole load of choc bars for son (he has very restricted diet but can eat chocolate). Then had bright idea of putting them in a shoe box and wrapping them up
Can't wait for him to unwrap them and be surprised.! And he is 35 but still my little boy. Sometimes! !!

Sitting in companionable silence in the conservatory with DH, catching up on GN, the only sound is the clock on the wall ticking!
