Our local NatWest plays hideous music, really loudly. I really hate going in there, but had promised to pay some money into my son's account.
I was dreading it - but I opened the door and ...silence. I was so excited that for once it was just like a Bank and not Primani!
It made my day.

A quiet day today, but perfectly happy?

AlieOxon Sun 18-Dec-16 17:17:20

Out for lunch today in Oxford with my sister, partner, Lucy and TWO of my grandsons.
Great.....only I ate too much!

kittylester Sun 18-Dec-16 17:47:25

Sounds good, Alie

I'm exhausted but happy! I powered through tchgrin and finished the wrapping (apart from DH'S!) though I have to admit to succumbing to bags quite a few times!

Anya as Dick Emery would have said "You are awful but ........?

A couple of things for me over the last few days. I was discharged from hospital on Weds after spending 18 nights as an inpatient after suffering from a subarachnoid haemorrhage (I'm OK now - just having to take 2 months off work starting on 14 Dec - projected return coincides almost exactly with birth of DGD no 2), on my first morning at home on Saturday(I spent 3 night with my parents) I got a cheque for £10 from the (Bristol) City Foundation weekly draw so will be paying that in tomorrow.

Lunch out for DS's birthday and GC were allowed to open their Christmas gifts from us (they are at their other GPs for the actual day) the excitement for even the smallest gift was lovely to see.

To hear that, after my grandson kept me up all night while he was being sick, he is now feeling much better! I shall be raiding his money box for the cost of cleaning the landing carpet!?

Went to a Carol service in DDs village Church this evening and was amazed to hear the processional carol, Once in Royal David's City being beautifully sung, solo, by DD.

janeainsworth Mon 19-Dec-16 14:29:32

That's lovely Marmight
I'm happy today because after nearly 3 months of work being done on the house, we are moving back into our own bedroom tonight and it will have an ensuite shower room smile

Greyduster Mon 19-Dec-16 15:28:33

Two things: a clean bill of health from the dentist again and we've finished the b****y Christmas shopping!

granjura Mon 19-Dec-16 16:50:18

we thought we would have our first ever quiet Christmas- and we end up with a crazy 3 legged cat, 2 mad borrowed dogs, and young visitors from London arriving on 26th ...

ah well, not quite ready for a quiet Christmas it seems.

A walk with 14 year old DGS and his big hug when he went home.

kittylester Mon 19-Dec-16 21:46:35

We had DGS2 and DGD3 for the day. Bertie is a lovely thoughtful 4 year old little boy and Persie is a feisty but loving little madam! Considering they had the Idiot for a father and had to live with us for a year they are a credit to their mum and her new partner.

Deedaa Mon 19-Dec-16 22:19:39

Sounds like a great Christmas to me granjura

I went out for a Christmas lunch with three school friends whom I have known for 58 years. We meet up every December and have a great afternoon together tchsmile

grannyactivist Mon 19-Dec-16 23:17:19

Yesterday afternoon a friend and I went for a mooch around our local 'posh' deli and then had hot chocolate at a nearby cafe. It was great to have a good chat before we both get taken up by family things over Christmas.

Husband found a screwdriver in his car, not his, after it had been repaired.Today I took it back to the garage and the man actually laughed grin - I think he was pleased.
