After the success of our long camping trip, is anybody up for a grand Christmas Party?
All of Gransnet is invited, it will be held on the 23rd December and will entail an overnight stay.Usual rules apply....alphabetical order, be as inventive as you like , and as Christmassy etc.

Alka Selzter! ?

Presents as well as hospitality - you are really spoiling us!

P.S. I am a great fan of a smelly old lab or two

nanaK54 Thu 22-Dec-16 15:01:28

Quail - do you have quail?

FarNorth Thu 22-Dec-16 16:16:56

Danni.....No, sorry, because Lord Roses has already made a strict list, so an orchid it is.
nana I am already quailing at the logistics of this party, today the elephant broke free of his tent, and went trumpeting offf over the fields.Mellor (gardener) went after it, and neither have been seen since.

Servants ( we need to hire more.)

Secret Santa... each reveller to bring a wrapped gift, just something very small and inexpensive, between £1000 and £2000.

Twin set and pearls for the afternoons.

nanaK54 Thu 22-Dec-16 18:10:13

Unicorn - no I'm not expecting a real one but perhaps one of the ice sculptures

nanaK54 Thu 22-Dec-16 18:11:37

Very much hope that the elephant makes it back in time!

Elegran Thu 22-Dec-16 18:14:37

Waggonwheels (chocolate)

Rinouchka Thu 22-Dec-16 18:15:26

Woolies (hats, gloves, scarves, tights, underwear)...it does get chilly at Christmas!

Just a reminder to guests, set off in good time on the 23rd, luncheon will be served about 1.30. ( a cold collation) and then you are free to snooze in your rooms, explore the extensive and somewhat overgrown grounds, annoy the monkeys in the orangery etc, until 5p.m.By then, the water will be sufficiently heated for baths ( one six inch tepid bath only please). Drinks will be served (pre-dinner) in the library, be sure to dress for dinner ( even if you miss the drinks) as dinner will be served 'bang on' as dear old Lord Roses likes to say, eight,o, clock. We will be using the long gallery for dining, as there are so many of us.Dinner will end at 10p.m after which we will party 'like there's no tomorrow' as our dear son Felix likes to say.
For those who have a strong constitution, kippers and kedgeree will be served in the dining room at 8.30 a.m on the 24th, but croissants and coffee will also be available on the sideboard, so help yourselves please as the servants will be clearing up still, from our riotous night before.
Carriages at 10.30 a.m.
