What is it that makes YOU feel that you have reached old age?

Not being able to party as I did for many years.

When my granddaughter says: "Why have you got lines on your face, Granny?".

I look very much like my mum. When I visited her in the home she thought I was her twin sister. After a few years she thought I was her Mum.

I'm not sure that I'll feel old as long as I have the aged mother (88) around! In saying that, I'm "only" 58 so have a few more years of youth maybe?

Never mind looking in the mirror and seeing my mother, I now see my grandmother looking back at me!

Having to scroll so far down to find my date of birth when filling in forms online.

I work in a big office with a lot of young girls on the desk behind me and I hear their chatter. Recently they were discussing a "very old" film. Turned out to have been released in 2010. My idea of a very old film is The Ladykillers (the original).

However today it was brought home to me when a new young man on our team was discussing that today is apparently the day everyone should wear their favourite band t shirt and everyone got asked what they would wear except me. The idea that I must have given up on music is very depressing.

Ha ha. Went to a rock and roll gig last evening where the stars were all old boys well over 70. Marty Wilde, Eden Kane, Mike Berry and Mark Wynter, all still on form and rockin' 'em in the aisles. One of them remarked how it was good to be on the 'Antiques Roadshow'! Cheeky wotsit.

Not being able to read the buttons on the front of the DVD player etc. under the TV because I cannot find any place to look through my varifocals that is in focus. And without my glasses I cannot see it at all - and I cannot kneel on the floor to look up close. Blooming frustrating!

I realised I am getting old when there was a knock at the door a couple of weeks ago. There stood my D H. Blood dripping from elbow. He was in tears. Looked 90 tho he is only 72. He had fallen over in high street and some very kind lady had brought him home. He is fine now nothing broken. But it was a real wake up call.

I am nearly 69, but feel about 50, but I obviously don't look it because last weekend I was offered a seat on the underground twice! Very impressed by the kindness, but it was something of a reality check!

Nothing makes me feel I have reached old age yet, but I am only 67, still working part time, not intending to go through the menopause EVER and I think that is what makes the huge difference.

When I gave in and took a pair of slippers to leave at my DS an DDiLs to wear when I looked after the DGC. My DM left slippers at mine and I thought 'ah bless her, how sweet'!

The slipper thing! I've even left a pair at my daughters. Then again, she's very fussy about the wooden floors!

Walking along the street and realising I've now become invisible!

Remember Terry Wogan (on his radio programme)saying that it is when you lean to pick something up and wonder whether there is anything else to be fetched before you get up - I now know what he meant.

When my sister, who is nearly 81, asked ME if I'm alright to go up the stairs at a cinema! (I'm 10 year's younger then her!!!)

On a city break in Barcelona, I lost count of the number of times I was offered a seat on a crowded bus. They certainly respect their elders moreover there but I am sure they would be mortified that each offer upset me for the rest of the day!
