Stupid Questions

DH told me that Malcolm Muggeridge once interviewed a surgeon who had separated Siamese twins (is conjoined more PC these days?). Malcolm was running out of questions and to keep the interview going asked if the surgeon could put them back together again.

It just grates on me but other people may find it affectionate!!
I have a friend who always asks 'and how's hubby?' as if he's my pet dog - and she knows his name perfectly well!!

ps he is not as obedient as the dog.

Slightly off topic but still question that I really wanted to give daft answer to, when we sold our house we bought a Park Home so had to go to the Bank to transfer the money from our Account. Member of staff after completing paperwork asked where had the money come from? I was very tempted to reply "drug dealing" but decided better not

When the St Ives Tate Gallery was opened by Prince Charles I was in the crowd watching. An interviewer from the BBC was working his way along the crowd asking people if they thought it was all a great waste of money. I don't know why he thought we would all have driven from all corners of Cornwall, first thing in the morning to celebrate something we thought was a waste of money.

My favourite political one was when Labour's Ian Grey asked, at First Minister's Questions, where the Scottish Government was going to find money to put in the proposed Oil Fund. The look of puzzlement on his face when the whole chamber collapsed with laughter is pure comic gold.

I often say Hubby, in fact I only use DH here because that seems to be the norm, I don't actually like DH Much. About these stupid questions , yes they are really dumb, and insensitive too mostly.

Apart from things on the news I always think it is stupid if I say for example that I am going on Holiday, and I get " Oh are you going anywhere nice". I feel like saying " No of course not I thought I would look for the worst place I could find, I hear Aleppo has some good deals at the moment"" Why not just ask me where I am going for goodness sakes!!

You can call him whatever you like juney64 - I think I said it on the Palace refurbishment thread when people persisted in calling HM 'queenie' (but not in an affectionate way, more in a 'knitting at the guillotine' way.)
