Worst Christmas song.

Can't stands fairy tale of NY - don't understand why so many people like it. Gt fed up with the Slade one. Quite like Mistletoe and wine but hate Millenium prayer. The worst though has to be Mr Blobby!
I do like most carols and traditional ones like the 12 days of Christmas. I also like Mary's Boy Child, little drummer boy, rudolph, Im dreaming of a WC (didnt come out quite as I intended!!). But I really hate Frosty the snowman. Just read the previous post. But i dont like Scarlet ribbons - too sentimental!

Oh, I sing in a choir and love John Ritter carols, though I agree, thy do get a bit sameish.

I work in a department store on a USAF base and we have had to put up with Christmas songs since the 1st of November. Every day the number of songs is added to. By Christmas, as always, I will be totally fed up with them. I used to love Christmas songs...not now...sighs

Sorry, I love them all, though favourites are the Pogues, and John Lennon's Happy Christmas ( War Is Over.) Elvis is particularly good too for Christmas, snarling that Santa Claus Is Back In Town.

For sheer class though, you can't beat The Coventry Carol sung by Joan Baez. Makes me shiver every time I hear it.

I love the Christmas carols, always give me a lift Christmas time. Do like fairytale of New York though.

Am very fond of Roy Orbison, but really dislike,"Pretty Paper". Yucky sentimental stuff!

Wham (exclamation mark)'s 'Last Christmas', now, that's different, it is part of my family's Christmas and we always put it on when we are preparing the lunch.

Love "The Holly and the Ivy" and "O Holy Night" Hate that one with the four boys dressed in white parkas. Can't remember their name but one line is Oh don't leave me alone like this !

I worked in a very large supermarket for many years and most of the time I could block out the Christmas music except for Frosty the bxxxxy Snowman. It drove me mad!

My youngest GS {5} told me about his school production yesterday. They are not doing a Nativity this year but a play and he is a snowman so I was treated to his version of Frosty the Snowman which features. Also a song about icicles in which that seemed to be one of three words throughout the other two being We are, it became rather tedious.

I like most of them actually, particularly 'Driving home for Christmas' which always reminds me of picking our daughter up from school for the Christmas holidays & the long drive home. She lives a long way away now & the song unites us when it comes on the radio over the festive period. I do love Bob Dylan's "here comes Santa Claus" - very funny

I absolutely loathe The Little Drummer Boy which is played incessantly in the USA.

Yes, that one seems to be a little-known Dylan recording GrammaH - couldn't quite believe it when I first heard/saw it but it grows on you...

I think the worst one for me is Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews' rendition of 'Baby it's cold outside' which seemed to be on a loop at one particular store a couple of Christmases ago!

I worked as a Waitress in my teens, we had Christmas songs on a loop - how we hated them - imagine having to listen to "I saw Mummy Kissing Santa Claus", "Frosty the Snowman", "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer" etc for weeks on end.

I do love the Pogues though & as for the Jeremy Corbyn one - I lost the will to live when I heard it last night

Try working in one of these stores which I did pre retiring with no escape until closing.It followed you everywhere even in the loo.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one to hate these Christmas songs, exactly the same ones as some of you. I particularly hate the Wham one too, NotTooOld, that 'gev' really winds me up, it's sooooo annoying! In fact, I don't like any of his songs, they are all dreary. The only one I positively like is Fairytale of NY as long as I don't have to see the video of that bloke!

I haven't heard either the Michael McIntyre version or the Jeremy Corbyn one, I'll try to listen to them now, but I'll probably hate them too!
