www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2016/11/14/has-sainsburys-stolen-the-show-with-its-musical-christmas-advert2/ Should be a hit with the workers]]

God knows how much they paid James Corden!

Oh dear. Wanted to switch off after 20 seconds. Much too long. Boring. Realised I'd been frowning through it all!!
When I watched the John Lewis ad, I burst out laughing and found myself smiling throughout.
So, no contest for me.

I may be wrong ( ah, I know, he is in the Welsh comedy with Rob Bryden)

rosesarered Tue 15-Nov-16 20:48:13

Isn't he the chubby actor from Car Share?

watermeadow Tue 15-Nov-16 20:11:23

Never heard of James Corden but it's a terrible banal song.

Ah yes, it's Ben Miller. If you want to see a really hilarious dvd over Christmas buy The Worst Christmas Of My Life ( also The Worst Week of My Life.) Ben Miller and Sally something star in it.
And another hilarious movie Death At A Funeral ( only the British version though, the US one is pants.)grin defy anyone not to laugh.

Anya Tue 15-Nov-16 13:20:19

Rob Bryden does the cruise adverts.

Anya Tue 15-Nov-16 13:19:14

grin I'm glad it's not just me who confuses Rob Bryden and Ben Miller!!!

Think it's Ben Miller?

rosesarered Tue 15-Nov-16 12:24:58

Is it a Tesco ad that features Rob Bryden and a very annoying wife buying mince pies?
An indeed is it Rob Bryden or Ben Miller ?

Candlefran Tue 15-Nov-16 11:55:01

Working people these days do get thoroughly stressed out. A lot is often expected of them in these times. And then Christmas comes on top of that. I think that is the point. But then, I am inclined to overthink. smile

Candlefran Tue 15-Nov-16 11:52:26

The apostrophe should have gone after the 'Sainsbugs', ie Sainsbugs' advert. I think.

Candlefran Tue 15-Nov-16 11:50:12

I loved the bit where the granny was holding up the queue! My DD would have recognised me from that. grin

Zorro21 Tue 15-Nov-16 11:49:30

SAINSBUGS ????

No. I don't like it at all. Don't like the woman in it, don't like the music, too long, no point to it and it was thoroughly uninteresting. There is nothing I like about it. I thoroughly enjoyed the John Lewis ad wild animals, though I disliked the humans in it.

I've enjoyed all the spoof John Lewis ads too.

constance Tue 15-Nov-16 10:07:51

It's ok but I didn't like the bit where the granny's holding up the queue.
I laughed more with the john lewis boxer on the trampoline.

Shanma Tue 15-Nov-16 00:21:36

I thought it was the most boring thing I have seen. I give it nought out of ten.

Candlefran Mon 14-Nov-16 22:52:53

Found the carrot. Equal cobblers with the rest of 'em, I reckon. But nice. smile

merlotgran Mon 14-Nov-16 22:49:34

We call it Sainsbobs but I do remember Sarah Kennedy and Sainsbugs.

Candlefran Mon 14-Nov-16 22:48:11

I haven't found the carrot yet. sad

Ana Mon 14-Nov-16 22:40:53

He had a good life, though...

rosesarered Mon 14-Nov-16 22:38:01

...although it didn't end well for poor old Kev.

rosesarered Mon 14-Nov-16 22:36:56

I go there every week, never heard it called Sainsbugs!

Ana Mon 14-Nov-16 22:36:31

Now that I've seen it on the tv I agree that it's too long and not even very Christmassy. James Corben wasn't in it either (thank goodness!).

Kevin the Carrot's still my favourite!

Auntieflo Mon 14-Nov-16 22:31:38

Yep, Sainsbugs it is.

Maggiemaybe Mon 14-Nov-16 22:29:39

Whoops, sorry Candlefran, no offence meant blush You call it just what you want!

Candlefran Mon 14-Nov-16 18:46:09

Oh yes! Sara Kennedy! I wondered after I posted where I'd got that from. grin

Granarchist Mon 14-Nov-16 18:15:03

Kevin the carrot is fab - John Lewis is nonsense (all that fox s**t) I quite like Sainsbury's. Kevin best so far.
