OLDGOOSE ,I'm much the same ,my frieds were always telling me we should enjoy rough play with our son ,it wasn't our way there are almost 10 years between him and his sister and they tell friends that we were "old school" no nonsense in the car because it causes accidents,no running in the house or jumping on furniture and definately no bad language .They have always ..or nearly always stuck to the rules.My son is a brilliant dad to his 7 year old daughter and we have her with us half of every week since he and her mum split up.I despair sometimes at what she's allowed to get away with at her mums and other grans .Cheeky ,answering back ...but its not being naughty apparently shhe's just giving her opinion!
