So can the effigy represent anybody?
Is anyone alive or dead fair game?
Eg a person from religious faith?
I don't think you can pick some + not others.
I have a sense of humour
but still feel uncomfortable.
Even though there maybe people I dislike, they are still someone's son, daughter, brother sister etc.

Pinning a tail on a donkey is a children's game and is not the re-enactmnet of something appalling that happened in real life.

An effigy is a representation of a person and, in Guy Fawkes' case, it was a real person. Although I can remember making guys when I was a child, once I understood what it represented, I thought it was horrible. In my opinion, it's in the same category as the sort of gory and sadistic representations that are seen at Halloween, which I also find very unpleasant.

I think I have a reasonably good sense of humour but I don't find the idea of burning someone - however vile I might think they are - amusing.

Well, I do think they should be deceased before they are burnt.
It's very cruel otherwise.

Well, as some of our laws go back to the middle ages, I don't see why. Burning at the stake was commonplace then.

Usually they took pity on the person to be burned and killed them first by either garroting them or tying a bag of gunpowder around their necks. There are gruesome stories of the victims trying to bend into the flames to ignite the gunpowder. Of course they didn't feel sorry for some so those poor beggars had to bear it all.

That, of course, is totally different from burning an effigy. Mind you we could make an exception in the case of IDS lol. Now the question is should we let him have the gunpowder lol?

so - how does he propose getting in arms when they are struggling to get in food and medical supplies?
I do know some people who are trying to get in essentials like those at the moment, taking their life into their hands. Just waiting and praying that they are safe.

I am sure there are ways and means for arms dealers, Jalima.
