That extra hour - what didYOU do with it?

I have posted this elsewhere, but if you missed it .....

Whilst we got an extra hours sleep on Sunday, spare a thought for the English Heritage Volunteers who worked tirelessly through the night to move the stones back 1 hour at various stone circles around the country side. This is done twice a year to make sure the stones align correctly with the sun.

grin

How could one ever miss you db ?

merlotgran Sun 30-Oct-16 12:52:33

Ha Ha! I've also been thinking of all those hard working little gremlins doing good deeds for a change and putting our computers back an hour.

Charleygirl Sun 30-Oct-16 13:25:33

DB being an uneducated Scot, I almost believed you!!! You are extremely naughty.

Jayanna9040 Sun 30-Oct-16 13:32:22

What do you mean Charley? My back is still aching!

Charleygirl Sun 30-Oct-16 13:34:41

The bit about the English Heritage Volunteers- is that what made your back ache- doing all of that work?!!!!!!

Judthepud2 Sun 30-Oct-16 13:40:31

DH said he hopes that they put back Stonehenge exactly as it should be!

I know what my neighbour (underneath my flat) did with the extra hour! blush
It was noisy and she might have a bad back now, but she wasn't moving stones, I think it might have been earth! wink

Christinefrance Sun 30-Oct-16 17:17:56

How wonderful those immensely strong volunteers are, round of applause please.
Nobody told my dogs about the extra hour so they wanted to go out at 7.30am this morning - yawn

Judthepud2 Sun 30-Oct-16 17:51:07

I spent at least an hour cleaning up the sun room where our beloved dog had had an overnight upset tum! I will not go into detail!

rubylady Mon 31-Oct-16 03:51:35

Have they taken gullible out of the dictionary? I believed you DB! confused

kittylester Mon 31-Oct-16 07:51:10

I spent all 25 being angry!thlangry

JackyB Mon 31-Oct-16 12:23:05

I spent it wrapping dates in bacon and piping cream cheese into celery sticks for a finger food buffet after our choir's jubilee concert yesterday evening. The concert was great, but all who came to the buffet afterwards were even more enthusiastic about the food than the music!

merlotgran Mon 31-Oct-16 13:34:14

Like you, Jud We spent the extra hour dealing with a doggy malfunction - only in Peggy's case it was her lack of consideration after she thought it would be great fun to roll on a dead bird before bounding into the kitchen looking for her bone.

Looking at the colour of the water I thanked my lucky stars we have a Belfast Sink just inside the back door. shock

I am so relieved DB that these poor people get the recognition they deserve . Well done for bringing it to our attention. I've just come back from Geneva where I've now put the hour back twice in one day .

Jalima Mon 31-Oct-16 14:35:23

DaphneBroon Far be it from me to be picky grin but isn't that a National Trust van? Is that an oak leaf emblem on the side of it?

It looks like Avebury and I am trying to work the time out from the position of his arms

Jalima Mon 31-Oct-16 14:36:29

credit where credit's due, wouldn't want those English Heritage people claiming to have done all the work .....

DanniRae Mon 31-Oct-16 15:31:22

Oh merlotgran what an adorable dog - I just love the look on her little face smile

Charleygirl Mon 31-Oct-16 15:42:16

merlot I have added that adorable dog to my ever growing list of dogs to be "borrowed" Top of the list is Grace, Daphne Broon's gorgeous greyhound. Sam, owned by NanaandGrampy is next.

NanaandGrampy Mon 31-Oct-16 15:56:44

I'm second place said Sam ??? ????

Charleygirl Mon 31-Oct-16 16:01:23

Sorry Sam I knew that you would be hurt but in fairness I have known Grace for longer. You are absolutely gorgeous- I am sure that you would come with me- food speaks louder than money with you.

NanaandGrampy Mon 31-Oct-16 16:47:01

Ah you know him well Charley !

merlotgran Mon 31-Oct-16 16:48:27

My favourite picture of mummy dog Millie in the middle, Peggy on the left and her brother Gloster (who now lives with DD2) on the right.

Butter wouldn't melt!
