Another word game - twenty questions

After yesterday's Twenty Hints on one of the threads, I was reminded of that old favourite Twenty Questions.
Rules reminders:-
Someone thinks of something/someone and posts a very minimal clue - just the category (person, film title, object or whatever)
Others post questions, to which the answer can only be "Yes" or "No" or guesses of who/what they are thinking of.
Questions are limited to twenty.
If someone guesses correctly within the twenty, they choose the next subject, or nominate someone else to do so.
If not, the answer is given and another subject chosen, either by whoever posted the unguessed one or by someone else who has been nominated.

I'll start it off - A person.

Wooden Heart

Aaaaarrrrrrrggggghhhh!

Wobblybits Tue 08-Nov-16 18:04:03

Yes Wot -- Elvis

Now, don't just guess - he recorded hundreds of songs, and this is not a well know one, sorry if I'm muddying the waters for you.

wot Tue 08-Nov-16 18:03:14

Well, it's Elvis, then!?

shandi6570 Tue 08-Nov-16 18:02:58

Roger Miller?

Ana Tue 08-Nov-16 18:02:52

Frank?

Wobblybits Tue 08-Nov-16 18:01:47

I suppose you could describe this singer as the King of the Road

Elegran Tue 08-Nov-16 18:00:38

Yes, it was that, wot but I am sure that was at number one so it can't be that.

wot Tue 08-Nov-16 18:00:23

I fell asleep too until five minutes ago.....I always do after my dinner as I'm getting old!

wot Tue 08-Nov-16 17:59:26

Elvis?

wot Tue 08-Nov-16 17:58:44

King of the Road is what Elegran means?

Wobblybits Tue 08-Nov-16 17:55:06

Not HGTWWIHH --- you won't guess the song, you need to narrow the field down.

Elegran Tue 08-Nov-16 17:52:46

He's got the whole world in his hands?

Wobblybits Tue 08-Nov-16 17:52:38

Ana, we cover a lot of songs from this singer.

I may have set this too difficult so from now on I will only dock you for wrong answers.

Elegran Tue 08-Nov-16 17:51:59

Ukeleles might cover that one where two guitars are competing, but I can't remember its name.

Wobblybits Tue 08-Nov-16 17:50:49

Elegran, not sure where you are going with that, this singer would have washed his hands of songs like that.

I'll be kind and ignore that question

Elegran Tue 08-Nov-16 17:50:48

The cigarette stubs were short, and not too big around. (That isn't another question, it is what I should have added to my last one)

Ana Tue 08-Nov-16 17:50:40

Now what Country song would a bunch of ukelele players be likely to cover...? Hmm - no idea!

Wobblybits Tue 08-Nov-16 17:48:23

not Don Williams
12 to go

The singer had many styles mainly country, blues, pop, ballads.

Elegran Tue 08-Nov-16 17:47:01

Does it involve cigarette stubs?

Wobblybits Tue 08-Nov-16 17:46:14

You also know it was a country song , it does have a blues theme to the lyrics

shandi6570 Tue 08-Nov-16 17:45:03

Hi Ana, should be getting dinner but I'll either help or hinder for a short while. Sadly my knowledge of Country singers is almost zero, only know the most famous.

Did this American singer also have hits in another music genre?

nanaK54 Tue 08-Nov-16 17:44:33

Don Williams?

Wobblybits Tue 08-Nov-16 17:40:17

No, that was the Beatles.

Get the singer
You have the date it was written
It was on an album which must be after it was written
2 others recorded it before the most well known version
