I have some hand-knitted extra thick bed socks, soop. I think my electric under blanket that I bought for myself last autumn has helped too—no chilblains so far this year!
What a difference a day makes 😢😢
Here we are again...
happy as can be
all good friends and jolly good company.
Never mind the weather,
never mind the rain,
as long as we're together...Woops she goes again.
A big, warm welcome and please continue to enjoy the companionship.
and
until I return tomorrow. x

In the summer, a couple living in the village, put up a notice asking folk to check for a swarm of bees that had taken flight from the hive in their garden. Alas, they haven't been located.
Hello, soop Yes, hale and hearty. I've just come in from cramming rose trimmings into the garden rubbish bin. The rambling rector was severely cut back a few weeks ago. The cuttings were too much for the bin and some were left to put in "next time" Just realised that I missed next time and the bin men will be here again tomorrow morning. There is still enough to fill it at least once more, possible twice. Very healthy vigorous rose that rambling rector. Healthy thorns too.
Thanks Corner, soop and Charley I failed to implode but that was due to the fact that when I mentioned on my daily call to get feedback this morning I told her the receptionist I had the UK MDs number and he was my next call.
My car will not be ready Monday - in fact its not even built yet!! No surprise there then. It will I am assured be ready by the first week in December. Which will never happen and I will eat Sam's dinner if I prove to be wrong !!
The young lady in question did not apologise for her catalogue of errors but proceeded to apologise for all her colleagues who failed me so miserably
!!
I do not believe a word of course. I tried to explain we could have avoided all this with a timely call 4 months ago . The truth was all I wanted . But she seemed compelled to try and either ignore me or tell me out and out lies.
Anyway enough of all that !!!
I couldn't resist sharing these pictures. One of the boys at the most expensive pumpkin farm in the world
One of Jackson's new bedding. And finally - my favourite an underwater picture taken at swimming lessons !
Elegran I like the name - 'rambling rector*...I wonder why it was given the name.
I have been cursing for much of the afternoon. Logging on is torture. The last attempt took almost 30 mins together with notification that the system is not operating. Well, what do I know? I'm irritated beyond measure. To make matters worse, I've had three calls from a lady with a robot-like voice. Each time she says...hi, I go into meltdown.
Thank you, N&G you've put a smile on my face. Lovely photos, as always.
I'm going to log off. My patience is about to disappear into the ether. I've used up my entire vocabulary of wicked swear words. MacSporran gives a polite cough whenever I let rip. He's such a gentleman.

Gosh soop I do not know any.
N&G, I love Jackson`s new bedding, very effective!
Gosh NandG I can hardly believe that dreadful service! I hope you can vent at the UK MD and get someone kicked up the whatsit!
Those photos are great especially that underwater one.
Soop is the poor internet a general thing in your area or are you one of the unlucky ones?
I went to John Lewis this morning to get something done about my notso smart TV. Apparently it sounds like a hard drive problem and the 'man who can' is coming on Monday! Fingers crossed.
Bl---y BT .i want getting 4G on my iPad so rang them.. it couldn't be them! Must be my iPad.
I assured them that it wasn't Apple had just finished checking it and it was fine.
Ok, try swapping the sim from your iPhone, although it won't work
I swapped! And guess what? I had 4G
Grudging BT man agreed to send me a new SIM card.
Why will men not believe us?
I AM NOT STUPID! [ or only occasionally
Should be
Wasn't getting
The outcome was good galen, so a positive but yes, male or female the disbelieving 'experts' could drive anyone to drink. Computers and associated technology is guaranteed to have me levitating. Mr C remains calm and practical, even if he hasn't a clue what's happening, guess what, that doesn't help a bit! Hope your computer gremlins leave home very soon soop. Great photos n&g, the bedding made me smile. Sorry about your car, think I would be sending a carefully worded letter via signed for post to their MD pointing out the need for accurate and timely communication, grumpy soul that I am.
jollyg I haven't heard heederum hoderum word for years, so thanks for reminding me
. As soon as I read it I could hear my auld wee grandma using it to describe some mish-mash or other that members of her church choir got themselves into, and that she sorted out for them
I don't understand one iota about 4G or whatever Galen, (does my iPad even have a sim card, where?) but if you now have what you ought 'er have, that's good enough for me.
I have just seen that numberplease is back with a new name (callgirl )
so lovely to see you callgirl , have been thinking of you and yours.
The rest of GN is totally depressing me at the moment - so much anger, bitterness and nitpicking!! (Present company entirely excepted)
So I will wish you all a peaceful and a good night

Hello callgirl. I didn't know that was you! Nice to see you back. I get the name.
Good to be back, after a frustrating week and a half of reading posts but not being able to do owt else on here!
Morning all !!
I am feeling chipper this morning. Now I know my cars not coming I don't feel on tenterhooks so might as well just get on with it.
Welcome back number erm Callgirl how confusing is a name change eh? But glad you made it back.
Gorgeous sunset Galen amazing how a little beauty soothes our souls eh?
Today is mine to fritter use productively
until late afternoon. We are taking our granddaughter to Scout camp for the weekend as Mummy and Daddy are giving her bedroom a total makeover as a birthday surprise. It will be lovely to spend a few hours with her. I took her to karate last week and she just seems to have lost enthusiasm for it and I can see it slowly grinding to a halt which makes me sad.
But at nearly 10 I think we have to give her the opportunity to make choices ( even if I think they're bad ones).
We took the 2 little boys to soft play for a couple of hours yesterday and then as a treat to Burger King . As we sat down watching them eat I took a closer look at Cooper and don't ask me how but the boy was filthy ! Not dirty....filthy!! I have no idea how it happened and he was perfectly happy but in 2 perfectly clean places the boy had attracted every scrap of available grime !!
Is it a boy thing I wonder...or a Cooper thing??
Have a wonderful day one and all ( PS 58 days to Christmas !!)
It's a boy thing!
.
Super sunset Galen - hope you are feeling calmer this morning.
Hope JL work the magic with your TV too, Lona. I would like someone to come and talk me through all the things that our smart TV can do as I'm fairly sure we don't use half of its functions.
Welcome back to the kitchen number!! I will get used to it!
Rambling Rector as a name for a rose makes the mind boggle, doesn't it, Elegran.
Glad you can take the philosophical view nandg - far less stress that way. I won't be showing Bertie the photo of the bedding - we'd never hear the end of it. He is another one who attracts every speck of dirt in any environment. His sister's hair knots as we walk out of the door however beautiful it looks immediately before.
Hope you can read this Soop!!
The Kitchen is up and running nice and early this morning.
It must be the darker mornings, because I'm not!! I woke up, and judging by the amount of light I could see round the edges of the curtains, thought it must be about 7 - it was quarter to nine!!
Don't have to be anywhere so it doesn't matter, so I am enjoying a
in bed and catching up on GN .
Daphne that is what retirement is all about- not really bothering what time of the day it is.
I must get myself off this chair because I want to get the ingredients together for a chicken casserole cooked in the slow cooker but the way I am going, it will be done in the oven!
Some of the local children, 8 years and under, decided to sweep up the leaves yesterday. They did a reasonable job, leaving them in one pile which I put in my bin as I am one of two who has paid for the removal of leaves and/or grass. I think that the children got bored because there is much more to do but it was a start.
Good for the children Charleygirl! (And good for you)
Daphne enjoy your lazy morning, you do so much running around you certainly deserve a lie in.
It's horrible here weather wise, drizzly, gloomy and mild. The trees though are magnificent, wonderful colours which make me smile. I'm lucky in that my flat is surrounded by lots of different, long established specimens, and whatever the weather they are glorious.
Today is my son's 43rd birthday, and after his very unhappy year he now has a lovely girlfriend who is spoiling him. He deserves some TLC so I'm happy for him.
