There is a friendly quiz in progress -- based on twenty questions.

Judthepud2 I agree.

Welcome back, tanith. sunshine

I have just about recovered from a distressing incident. A good mate asked me to watch and bid on a set of cutlery on eBay. Why on earth had I the closing time of the auction firmly fixed in my head as being 9:00 tonight. I've been eBaying for yonks. I was well prepared to put in a bid tonight. She phoned at (9:30 ^this morning to ask how the bidding went. I was horrified. I have no excuses other than being a silly old lady. However, within twenty minutes we found a much better deal for a similar item. A Buy Now...which took place. It's fortuitous that the first deal was a no-no. We're both wearing a big grin.

soop there is a lot of unnecessary unpleasantness going on outside the kitchen. Must be the time of year. DB seems to be getting the brunt of it for some reason. A bit of TLC required, I think.

Wobblybits Sun 30-Oct-16 13:06:45

LOL Soop, with the state of us, I'm not sure romance will be top of the list.

soop Sun 30-Oct-16 12:47:26

Wobblybits Mrs P is a lady after my own heart. Choosing the outfit(s) to pack for a romantic few days away, is an enormous treat.
The sun is shining here. It is a beautiful day.

Charleygirl I have no idea what has happened to distress DaphneB since yesterday. I log off late afternoon and on again late morning. I do know that she is extremely distressed. How can this be? DaphneB has only ever contributed positive, well-meaning conversation to this forum. Cruel remarks (I'm assuming that this is at the root of the matter) are totally unwarranted. For goodness sake, whoever it is that enjoys hurting her feelings, give her a break.

Good morning Kitcheners one and all (including all pampered pets)

corner you are indeed a good, kind, thoughtful friend. I'd raise my hat to you, if I was wearing one.

Daphne Our answer phone has a mind of it's own. When we replayed a message yesterday it informed us that the message was left at 2:30 am on March 15th! shock. MacS tiddled about with it. We shall need to wait until the next message is left as to whether or not he was successful hmm

Wobblybits Sun 30-Oct-16 11:23:34

That's my packing done, I can here MrsP rummaging in the wardrobe now, she should be done in a few hours.

Charleygirl Sun 30-Oct-16 10:09:34

Yes, dull and miserable here too but at least it is not cold.

Have a lovely holiday Wobbly and I hope that you spoil mrs. P, she deserves it.

DB I know that you are lurking, probably licking your wounds after those nasty, unwarranted outbursts by 2 GNs, one new it would appear, and the other a reincarnation but I do promise you, we are not all like that.

Wobblybits Sun 30-Oct-16 09:19:25

The sunshine is trying hard to break through here

cornergran Sun 30-Oct-16 09:11:29

Some sunshine would be wonderful, wobbly, unremitting grey here. Have a good holiday. .

Wobblybits Sun 30-Oct-16 08:26:55

Busy day later, packing for holiday, so the Morning is for chilling, is it too early for cupcake. Join me. sunshine

Wobblybits Sun 30-Oct-16 08:15:47

Mobile phone should correct automatically -- at least I hope so, as I have just used my phone as the master to adjust all the other clocks. The one I can't understand is my satnav, considering it connects to a satellite, it does not auto correct.

Bellanonna Sun 30-Oct-16 01:21:54

Daphne, that was really naughty. ? Until I read wot's comment, I had actually believed it, although I was surprised, thinking I'd never heard of that and how on earth would they move them?? I also fell for the Panorama spaghetti harvest, but I was quite young at the time!?

callgirl1 Sun 30-Oct-16 00:39:16

Well done Ethan, good on yer!

????

Our visits aren't so bad daphne, adjusting to losing a day a week. smile. Our friend has few close family members, Mr C has known her for over 50 years, me for 48 or so. We're the family you choose for yourself to each other, disagree at times but we get through it. There are many visitors but prefers to talk her worries through with us. Have just sorted out a mobile so we can talk on the phone as November is crazily busy for us so visits will be less from necessity.

Had forgotten about the time change. Gransnet is very useful! Have done the bedroom clock, the rest can wait until tomorrow. Now, where did I put those instruction books?

Whilst we get an extra hours sleep on Sunday, spare a thought for the English Heritage Volunteers who work tirelessly through the night to move the stones back 1 hour at various stone circles around the country side. This is done twice a year to make sure the stones align correctly with the sun.

Tizliz Sat 29-Oct-16 22:49:21

I think that there is not enough ??in use elsewhere on GN today, been very snippy in places. It's Saturday, chill day or as my bil would say "we all need to zen"

Charleygirl Sat 29-Oct-16 22:40:22

Daphne all I have to do are my wristwatch and bedside clock. I do not have to change the central heating boiler clock because I never moved the clock forward 6 months ago!

I have a feeling my mobile does not bother to change because it is a strange time now but I am not fussed.

tanith Sat 29-Oct-16 22:35:04

Oh my I've just popped in to read a thread that isn't nasty, everywhere else I've been here tonight there is discord and argy bargy I got sick of it and thought I'd come and read a nice interesting and gentle thread , thanks for restoring my faith in nice GN flowerscupcake to you all smile

DaphneBroon Sat 29-Oct-16 22:35:02
