happy as can be
all good friends and jolly good company.
Never mind the weather,
never mind the rain,
as long as we're together...Woops she goes again.

A big, warm welcome and please continue to enjoy the companionship.

Hello again dear Kitcheners

Wee Teddy (who is now showing signs of becoming stronger) and N&G's brother, are foremost in my thoughts. The surgery will have taken place. This post op phase can be very stressful especially for family members.

Bellasnana and Galen tender hugs for you.

cornergran I'm hoping that your friend's discharge from hospital goes smoothly. She will require on-going care at home for some time to come.

Charleyg Tara is very much like Rory. Except of course that he rarely ventures far from the back or front door. Home comforts are top of his list of priorities.

Jalima That is a beautiful teddy for wee Teddy. smile

My friend enjoys doing difficult jigsaws. I took her through her favourite on-line site. She placed a significant order. Her husband is in the care home and her dog died recently. She enjoys the brain-teasing challenge of doing the 1000 piece puzzles (that bear little resemblance to the picture on the box)...hmm We ate chocolate ginger biscuits with our coffee. I have the back-bone of a flip flop.

Just popped in with a quick update on Teddy who is breathing and feeding on his own. His mum, understandably, wants to take him home, my brother is hoping that they keep him in overnight to be sure. Thank you for all you kind thoughts and prayers (and teddies!)

I was hoping to have news of nandg and her brother.

soop Thu 17-Nov-16 17:21:31

Hello kitty thank you for keeping us updated with the latest news. I'm relieved to hear that Teddy has rallied and is now breathing and feeding on his own. Bless him. He's just a wee baby and shouldn't have to deal with any of this. I do understand that his mummy wants him back at home. I also understand why your brother would feel more confident if Teddy spent one more night under the watchful eye of the hospital staff. A big special hug for you.

I was also hoping for news of nandg's brother. He will be kept sedated for some time. I can barely imagine how his close family are feeling right now.

soop Thu 17-Nov-16 17:42:38

There is snow on the Paps of Jura. It has bee hammering down with what sounds like hailstones. Also a good deal chillier.

I need to log off until after the care home visit in the morning.

My thoughts remain with every one of our Granspals who are going through a difficult time. It would be wonderful to return tomorrow to find good news that we can all celebrate.

smile moon

kitty so pleased to hear that young Teddy is feeding and breathing on his own. I am inclined to agree with his DD that it maybe better to keep him in hospital for one more night especially as he is so young. Bronchiolitis is horrendous- I am assuming that is what he has picked up.

My heart goes out to N&G and family- the waiting is horrendous.

It is definitely colder here, we have had sunshine, rain, high winds and chills. If Tara would come home we could go to bed and snuggle up there.

Lona Thu 17-Nov-16 18:19:13

kitty good news sunshine

Crafting Thu 17-Nov-16 21:45:25

kitty good news about little Teddy hope he is now well on the mend.

Worried about N&G and family though. As charlie said it's the waiting that is so hard to cope with.

Galen Thu 17-Nov-16 22:13:29

Some good news then. I hope the brain op goes ok.
I'm still feeling down, but coping.
Getting more fed up with spurious claimants.
I think my tolerance levels have diminished
I'm waiting to see if they will extend my appointment to the tribunals as it is supposed to end on 31 march next year as I will have reached the advanced age of 72. It's 70 for most people ,but as I've been doing it so long my original contract was to age 72.

Bellanonna Thu 17-Nov-16 22:32:39

kitty that sounds like good news about little Teddy. X

cornergran Thu 17-Nov-16 23:12:01

Well done teddy. Sounds better, kitty. Sharing the concerns for n&g and family a serious operation for her brother.

whitewave Fri 18-Nov-16 05:59:51

kitty smile

kittylester Fri 18-Nov-16 06:36:42

Thank you all for your kindness.flowers Teddy is to go home today all being well. The photo my brother sent shows him looking very cross - as well he might.

Still no news from nandg

Galen, dh is retiring at the end of this month as he has found his patients becoming an irritation rather than people he enjoyed helping. Maybe the time has come for you to make the decision to go. I'm sure there will be lots of things you can do to fill your time - the Cab springs to mind for a start.

DaphneBroon Fri 18-Nov-16 08:47:05

That is lovely news kitty now all we need is to hear from N&G that all is well with them. I am concerned and keep popping in to see if there is any more news.
annsixty - Pornstar Martinis!!?!? We were in Brasserie Blanc yesterday (favourite lunching place when DH despairs of my home cooking -I'm not stupid!) and I had a skim through their cocktail menu. Wow!
This might be a new direction for me.....

Charleygirl Fri 18-Nov-16 09:00:20

kitty lovely to hear that young man is going home. Youngsters recover very quickly from being extremely ill one minute to being as right as rain the following day. It took him a tad longer but he is only a month old and has not built up his own immune system yet. The family can now relax and care for him.

DB I do hope that this restaurant is within walking distance of your house if you are thinking of sampling cocktails!

This wait for news from N&G is very worrying. I do hope that all is well.

NanaandGrampy Fri 18-Nov-16 09:18:42

Good morning all !!

and it is a great morning smile

Firstly, I am so glad to hear Teddy is doing well Kitty - that must be such a relief.

My brothers op went well . He had to have some additional work done which will necessitate medication now for life but it was such a relief to see him on the ward and able to talk etc. He's still an idiot but he's MY idiot !!

It seemed to take forever and those hours waiting have to be some of the longest of my life. But he's well enough to Facebook me this morning complaining he's bored and would I like to play I spy!!

So we shall pop in to see him ( a special dispensation to do so outside of visiting hours) before we head home as we both have retinal scans this afternoon at the our hospital !!

Its all go here !

Anyway, I'm sending luck and love to you all - its a good day and in the words of Michael Buble ----I'm feelin' fine !!

Nelliemoser Fri 18-Nov-16 09:22:16

Kittylester It's good to hear about your little one.

Bellanonna Fri 18-Nov-16 09:23:47

N&G. Great news !

Crafting Fri 18-Nov-16 09:29:47

Had to pop in to see if there was any news - and there is ?. Great news about your brother N&G. How relieved you must be and Teddy going home today hopefully is great.

Galen hope things seem brighter for you today. We have some sunshine at the moment so sending you some ☀️☀️☀️

Have a good day everyone ?

DaphneBroon Fri 18-Nov-16 09:31:10

Wonderful news nanaandgrampy the best Christmas present ? you could all wish for. So happy for you!

kittylester Fri 18-Nov-16 09:35:46

Really pleased for you, your brother and all the family. flowers

Hope every one else is well - I'm off to Sainsbury's but may be back later.

Charleygirl Fri 18-Nov-16 09:37:58

N&G Thanks very much for informing us about your brother- that is Teddy okay and your brother on the mend. If he is bored that is absolutely fine!!! With luck he will not be kept in for long. You can breathe a deep sigh of relief and enjoy your weekend even if you are having mundane things done like retinal scans.

I am attempting to keep Tara in as it is -1 Degree here and too cold for her wandering off. She is not the happiest bunny and if you open a window you may hear her. She allowed me to sleep until 8am, a minor miracle.

Soon she will creep upstairs to bed and will tolerate the newly washed linen on her bed so that she can lie on the pillow beside the radiator. In my next life I shall return as a cat and I will be looking for a house like mine or "soop's" where I can dictate what I want and my wishes will be granted.

soop Fri 18-Nov-16 09:55:56

I'm supposed to be getting ready to go into Campbeltown. Had to pop in and catch up on N&G's latest update. I am DELIGHTED. Will be back later. Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeegrin

annsixty Fri 18-Nov-16 09:59:44

Such good news from all. It is snowing here and horrible with it but we can smile for the best news today.

annodomini Fri 18-Nov-16 10:19:37

Good news has brightened a dreich morning. As ann says, there's been snow - alternating with sleet and vertical rain. If the Peak District is visible this morning, I expect to see snow on the tops. It's 'aching joints' kind of weather! Having said that, I need to get out of my pjs, into the shower and down to the shops or I risk having nothing edible in the house.

Wobblybits Fri 18-Nov-16 10:27:26

Our Granddaughter has spoken part of the voice over on the BBC Children in need video, hers is the first voice and pops up all through it. Her Daddy is not in prison BTW, but quite often on the naughty step.
