Here we are again...
happy as can be
all good friends and jolly good company.
Never mind the weather,
never mind the rain,
as long as we're together...Woops she goes again.

A big, warm welcome and please continue to enjoy the companionship.

wine cupcake and smile until I return tomorrow. x

Nelliemoser to be honest it no longer worries me as I do not have a rug or a carpet down. It is so much easier to clean the floor. As long as she is okay that is the main thing but she does like her home comforts, using the litter tray at home also whenever she returns.

soop Thu 17-Nov-16 11:07:18

A friend is about to arrive for coffee. I have all your posts to read. Before I return to do just that...my warmest good wishes go out to all our dear Granspals as they continue to cope with their personal trials and tribulations. sunshine flowers

Thinking of the poorly family members and counting my blessings today. The weather isn't one of them though, it's windy, rainy and gloomy here.
I've actually written some cards and I may as well write some more as going out is not appealing!

Nelliemoser Thu 17-Nov-16 10:21:28

Charleygirl Sorry to smile about Tara but it was the way you wrote it.

DaphneBroon Thu 17-Nov-16 07:58:25

{{hug}} and Bon Courage to N&G - thinking of you this morning.
What further news of little Teddy, kittylester? Sending him love and cuddles ?

cornergran Thu 17-Nov-16 07:44:01

Have you tried the vitamin D after food, kitty? I take a collection of 'stuff' and find after food is best. The one that gives me a twinge is the Omega fishy one but after breakfast seems to make it better. If I don't take them first thing I forget.

Best get off to prepare breakfast for our friends in the hope a nice breakfast will distract them from the truly foul weather today. It's either a swim across to the car or settle them down with a film and hope it clears later hmm.

Off to see our hospital friend at the weekend, she is due discharge and we want to be sure all is well for her at home. Sunday is a down day, back to the traditional day of rest for us.

Will be holding little Teddy and all the family in my thoughts today kitty, along with you, your family and your brother n&g, I do believe there is power in loving thinking no matter the spiritual belief.

Take care all.

kittylester Thu 17-Nov-16 07:28:00

I've just started a multivitamin to up my vit D, Nellie, as the one on its own upsets my stomach, but I agree.

Lovely to see you Bella but please avoid breakdowns. Life does set us challenges and you have had far more than your fair share.

Galen, take care of yourself too until you can get some winter sun. You know we are here if you need to unload on us. brew

I agree with you Ann, this is what I love about GN - everyone matters.

nandg thinking of your brother and you. Teddy is the first grandchild of my baby brother so I have a bit of fellow feeling. My brothers and I were estranged for a long time due to my mother's machinations and I am very protective of them now we are reconciled.

Nelliemoser Wed 16-Nov-16 23:00:41

A virtual hug of support for Galen and some caring thoughts for those on here worried about some very poorly relatives.

Even though I am a vegetarian I have resorted to taking cod liver oil capsules. My bone density was affected by a parathyroid problem some years ago. It did get back to a more normal level on Alendronic Acid, which I no longer take but my Vitamin D levels were fluctuating wildly. So I took the best source to cover the sunless winter months.
We should all take Vitamin D in the winter at our latitudes.

annodomini Wed 16-Nov-16 22:56:18

Sending hope vibes for your brother N&G as well as for little Teddy. Best wishes for better news tomorrow.

Bellanonna Wed 16-Nov-16 22:05:28

Hope good news for your brother N&G. X. Must be very worrying for you all

annsixty Wed 16-Nov-16 21:54:49

As we settle down NandG our thoughts are with your brother and little Teddy. I truly believe this is GN at its best and I am an old cynic and realist but we do mean so well. It has to mean something.

cornergran Wed 16-Nov-16 21:28:29

Sorry charley the perils of late night writing and not proof reading. I think I simply said I had not been busy with technical stuff as you had - or something like that!

To be honest shattered now. Love having our friends but it is oh so tiring.

Still thinking of Teddy and sending so many get well thoughts. It is definitely a step forward if he has the energy to feed. Will be holding your brother in my thoughts tomorrow n&g, as you say no choice but so hard to have to go through the surgery twice. Please try to hold off from that nervous breakdown bellasnanna, but love how you can hold onto humour.

Off for my own version now, three phone calls to return and another day to plan, Sunday I can sleep!

Take care all

Thank you that cheerful photo of the half a year old daphne, he lifts the spirits

kittylester Wed 16-Nov-16 21:01:54

Let us know as soon as you can nandg

DaphneBroon Wed 16-Nov-16 21:01:21

Maybe a sleepless night ahead of you N&G what a brave man your "little" brother is - and indeed all of you. Sending all possible positive vibes plus a wee word with the big man upstairs flowers

Charleygirl Wed 16-Nov-16 21:00:30

N&G With surgery scheduled so early he will not have time to lie in bed thinking about it. us lot are behind him every step of the way. He did not know until you told him that he had quite so many women rooting for him!

I am not a church goer but I will be thinking of him every step of the way.

NanaandGrampy Wed 16-Nov-16 20:49:24

I'm so glad to hear Teddy is showing improvement Kitty I can imagine how worrying it must be . He's so tiny x

I spent a lovely afternoon with my brother just laughing and enjoying life.

He has a 50% chance of making it through the surgery but only 10% if he doesn't have it so it's a no brainier but his wife is so worried . His wife is much younger than him but whilst he is young at heart, she is an old soul and they are so good together.

His surgery is scheduled for 08:30 and will take 2 hours then he has to spend 4 hours as still as possible before they will assess himto see how it's gone.

Thank you so much for all your kind thoughts ( I told him about you and he now feels like an honorary Gran !)

I hope to have happy news tomorrow x

Charleygirl Wed 16-Nov-16 20:37:34

soop the tennis was marvellous. I discovered it was on totally by accident.

I wrote hours ago but could not send it for some weird reason so I lost the lot. That does irritate me. It was mainly to say that I have an iron here, untouched by human hand for years soop. Such a pity that you live so far away because you could have borrowed it indefinitely. I have done little ironing since I retired and this iron was obviously new when I bought it but I have used it a few times and then I have not really had the need.

Tara was out for 12 hours, came home, vomited on the floor and then retired to bed! Why not make use of the great outdoors?

Jalima Wed 16-Nov-16 20:05:20

X post - glad he is taking a bottle!!

and kind thoughts to everyone else who is under the weather

Galen hope are feeling better and sorting out your glamorous dresses and pearls ready for the cruise

Lona Wed 16-Nov-16 20:03:44

kitty I've only just caught up on here and I'm sorry to hear about poor little Teddy, I do hope he responds well to all the care he must be getting.
NandG I will be sending positive thoughts and good wishes for your brother tomorrow as well asTeddy.
Galen I hope you're feeling a bit better too, at least you have a relaxing cruise to look forward too ?
Bella I know that feeling of being swamped with stress, I hope it soon calms down for you xx

Love and hugs for everyone who is below par flowers

Jalima Wed 16-Nov-16 20:03:12

kitty so sorry to hear about Teddy
for him

kittylester Wed 16-Nov-16 19:59:23

Just popping back to say that Teddy is now taking small amounts from a bottle - progress sunshine My brother is going home now so he will probably stop phoning - I hope so - it's exhausting!!

Crafting Wed 16-Nov-16 19:41:10

kitty so sorry to hear little Teddy back on oxygen (just the name makes me want to give him a cuddle). He will certainly be in my prayers tonight as will your brother N&G. Hope they are both kept safe.

Daphne I remember when my DGD had her "half" birthday. It was a long time ago now as she is a young lady now but we remember it well.

Soop thank you for the photo of your son. He is very much like George Clooney (only better looking). What an attractive family you all are.

whitewave Wed 16-Nov-16 18:37:08

kitty I don't as a rule post on this thread as I'm not good at keeping up with everybodies stuff, but I have noticed your posts about young Teddy.

My very best wishes to him and his family. I shall read your posts with interest.

Bellasnana Wed 16-Nov-16 18:32:38

Poor little Teddy, what a worry. He and NandG's brother will most definitely be added to my prayer list, as will all Gransnetters whether religious or not.smile

I've had so much stress lately I do not intend to bore you with it. I was amused today when an old Rollng Stones song came on the radio in my car (en route home from the vet with Buzz ,who had shown me up good and proper with his atrocious behaviour) 'Here comes your 19th nervous breakdown! ' Very appropriate grin

Goodnight, granspals, always in my thoughts.moon

DaphneBroon Wed 16-Nov-16 18:30:42

Thank God for devoted NHS staff kittylester my experience was that they loved those children like they were their own. An unfortunate setback, but better safe than sorry and I imagine little Teddy is being monitored to the nth degree so that he does not become distressed.
How distressed you his adult family must be is another matter, you are very much in my thoughts. flowers
Much love to you all and to N&G's little bro for tomorrow.
It is hard to appreciate sometimes what h*ll some people are going through while the rest of us obsess about trivialities such as queuing in the supermarket or hunting for a parking space we should be ashamed blush
