The extra 6 years of Work!

I'm in my twelfth year post 60 and don't want to finish. I enjoy my my work.
Apart from 8/52 weeks off with my children I've always worked.
Don't know any other life!

I was originally down to retire at 63, which would be this December, but then it was moved to 65yrs and 3 months, which is an age away.
Friends six months older than me can retire next year - two whole years before me - as the later changes meant we have to work at least twice as long again per months difference.

I actually stopped working earlier this year and can claim a couple of small private pensions so that will have to suffice. Luckily my DH is in agreement with this and we try to live within our means but I'm still cross about the second lot of changes.

Ethel gosh I feel for you. ? I thought I had it bad. I just dread my body letting me down. My ailments are chronic acid reflux, random bouts of pseudo gout which is excruciating and back pain.

As I'm self employed I can barely afford to take time off, let alone have a holiday.

I am so grateful for all the responses and don't feel quite so alone now.

galen, what do you do that is so enjoyable? In another life, I'd have been an actress and would probably still be enjoying it (maybe that's just the grass is greener syndrome ).

Yes I wondered that too. Or perhaps a well paid mature model, all expenses paid trips to wear wonderful designer clothes. Now I may continue if that were the case.
