School Reunion

My year was only the second year that it was mixed (or "co-educational" to use the 1960s buzzword). Previously boys and girls were on the same site, but attended segregated classes.

DH has a 50th graduation next summer. I have mixed feelings about going. Some we still keep in touch with anyway but going back to Liverpool is always a bit sad as I associate more with funerals than fun.

We had a school reunion the year we were all 50. I walked into the room and had to look at the name badges to recognise most of them. Very surreal experience! On closer inspection, the familiar faces began to appear through the ravages of time. BUT the personalities were much the same. The rich mean girl crowd were still just that and I could feel my old sense of inferiority beginning to resurface.

Fascinating life stories though. Hope it goes well lefthanded.

Was it a boys school or mixed, lefthanded? I, perhaps wrongly, assume most of those who attend this sort of occasion only go if they have done well for themselves and are proud of their achievements. (And why not?! ). That is the very reason I have never been to one!

There was one for my old school, organised for 60th birthday year, last Saturday. I didn't go (don't live near there now) and to be honest there are only a couple of people I would ever want to be in touch with - and I am already. We meet up a couple times a year now, have a nice lunch and catch up, and we have always written since we moved into different areas.

I and a friend organised a school reunion last year we had 70 turn up ( we were only a school of 200+ ) it was really good I d never been to any before as I didn't fancy them but I really enjoyed this one and now in touch with a number of school friends through FB and email

There are a dozen of us who meet up every month and have done for about ten years I m not close with all of them probably four who I see outside the group but it's still nice to reminisce and swap photos etc
