4 of my GC still have Mum or Dad siting at their bedsides until they fall asleep - the oldest of these is nearly 8. Several still wake during the night and have to be placated.
I find this extraordinary - I know that mine were left to go off to sleep by themselves from the age of just a few months.
I know that child care goes in fashions, but I can see their parents are very tired and just need to sit down and have a quiet cup of tea or glass of wine and an adult conversation.
Now and again they comment on this and wonder what they can do - it is very hard to give advice without appearing critical.
Any other GPs out there whose GC are the same?

younger boy is happy with that. The oldest used to sometimes creep into mummy n daddy's bed but has stopped now.
