Phew!

I agree, we may be an island but not all of us is surrounded with water. I do not have so much as a puddle as we have not had rain here for days and nothing much at that.

The weather app on my phone told me today that it was 17dgrees here while it was quite obviously a good ten degrees hotter.

Too hot to do much here at all today. Sprinkler will be out this evening, garden is gasping for water.

We are just gasping for air here! Our gardens are waterlogged and it is unbearably muggy!

I keep hearing it said that we have had a wet and disappointing summer. Where? We live in north Hampshire and the summer has been decently warm with very little rain. Maybe I need to do a rain dance.

I agree it has been a wonderful summer. Late starting but making up for it now.
My son, in S. Spain tells me it was 46% there last week!

I think it has been a good Summer too, here at least. Just could do without the humidity. I love it hot but not humid, that's asking for too much

My phone says 25c in our area.
Our patio is South facing and sheltered. It's 33c out there. Needless to say I'm inside with the fan on.
I hoovered this morning and it took me half-hour to cool off afterwards. I am not complaining

We had thick mist this morning, definitely a heat haze.
So, we closed the curtains all over the house to keep the heat out, lowered the awning to keep the south facing living room cool and de-camped across the road to the beach!
As we live literally on the promenade, I popped back at lunchtime to get salad stuff out of the fridge and scuttled back to the shade of our beach shelter.
It was lovely, just enough of a sea breeze to keep us fairly cool, not many people around, and if either of us needed a 'loo' we just went across the road to our house!
We're back home now, sitting in the back garden with lattes, after our long and tiring journey of roughly 160 feet there and back!
There are times in the middle of winter when living on the prom' is cold, windy and grey, but on days such as this........it's paradise!

Juggernaut that sounds ideal to me- I can think that it can be very cold in winter and the sea air with the obvious salt will not do too much good to the outside of the building but if you can live on the beach for many days in summer, it sounds fabulous.

Brrr, that sprinkler was colder than I expected.

I wish we lived near beach it's something I would love to do but can't afford not complaining we have a nice home which is more than some have

We seem to have missed out on the good weather here in Dorset. Yesterday we were drenched by a thunderstorm. I stepped out of Sainsburys in a t shirt but the car was at the other end of the car park. The temperatures at not high today either.

Oh Juggernaut, how lovely. I am very envious.
