First time it was oranges. My dear mother-in-law brought oranges the day after the birth and I had no desire for them at all. I had a frozen shoulder for most of that pregnancy and had to swap sides of the bed but it disappeared as soon as my son was born.
Second time it was green apples (granny smith) and soda water. At about 36 weeks, taking the bottles back to the co-op in Whaley Bridge, with a toddler in tow, I dropped my car keys down a grid. A kind person took us home and I reported the keys to the council. About an hour later, a handsome fireman called at the door with a set of keys. "Are these yours?" he asked. They were the wrong keys! Turned out they were his keys and he gave me mine after enjoying his joke ?. After my daughter was born, I didn't want apples or soda water.
Third time, I had no cravings at all but I was anaemic. Back in the early 80s, they put you on iron as soon as pregnancy was confirmed but by the time no.3 was on the way, they'd stopped doing that.
