On the Beach

I'm currently on holiday at the seaside & saw a little girl (18 months?) having a great time on the beach with nothing on. But seeing her reminded me (similarly to you dorsetpennt) that it's unusual to see that these days. I don't think there's anything wrong with it & also don't think there's a paedophile on every corner.

I live in a well known southern seaside resort , lucky me . My two granddaughters are staying with me this week , they are four and a half and seven years of age. Naturally in this hot weather we've headed for the beach. Firstly, there are a lot of people ,including children, bordering on obesity . Secondly we have a section of the beach which is dog friendly, being an ex dog owner I used to take mine for a dip in the hot weather. I never took them for a day whilst I sat on the beach . These poor dogs are sitting on a hot, crowded beach and mostly without shade and even a few without drinking water. The odd swim must be a relief but a day on a beach is cruel . If you have no where to leave your dog, then don't go or don't have a beach holiday. Finally, when I was a child and even up to the 1980s it wasn't unusual to see a baby or toddler playing on the beach totally nude. It now seems to be unacceptable . Today, a toddler was playing at the sea edge in the buff. He wasn't English speaking, well his parents weren't, it's probably perfectly acceptable in their country, it should be here. But I noticed several horrified faces and some muttering. I'm ok with it , I don't believe there are paedophiles every where with a camera so why not ?
