Eugenie moving into Kensington Palace

It's all to easy to sit here and knock these people, isn't it. None of us can choose the circumstances into which we are born, and I wonder how many of us would behave any better if it were us? However, I do think that those like Princess Eugenie should be making their own way in life and not depending on handouts of any sort.
I am a strong monarchist but agree it should be slimmed down. My admiration for the Queen is huge and I won't hear a word against her. And I like Charles, he does a lot of good I think. All of it is better than the fiasco of Presidential elections, isn't it? That would cost a lot more, and have no cohesion and history like our royal family have.

I've always wondered why Andrew's daughters were 'princesses' but Princess Anne's children were untitled. I suppose it was her choice.

Anniebach I am in favour of the monarchy - but a slimmed down monarchy which earns its keep, Head of State and a small team of deputies.

This is a step too far even for me especially since the flat she shares with her equally pampered sister was done up at huge cost not so long ago.

Of course, we don't know that she hasn't won the Euro Millions and can afford to pay the market rent for her flat!

I'm a royalist too but really only as far as the Queen and direct descendants are concerned.
The Duke of York annoys me with his constant hanging on to his position and that of his daughters. Always referring to them as the Princesses and insisting they have Royal security and perks. How many official engagements do they undertake? None as far as I can see and isn't that the deal? You work for the "firm" and you get rewarded.
Even Prince William is getting on my nerves a bit, shirking his duties to spend time with his family, or so it seems.
Prince Harry for me, he's always involved in something.

Having seen the outfits they wear at weddings maybe they do flock to see them. I don't understand why all these people need to be given houses in the best part of London. Granny's got a whole palace, they should move in with her like all the other families trying to house their children. They can become full time carers when Queenie begins to need care!

Does America provide housing for all the relatives of the president? We provide housing for the queens children, grandchildren, cousins . Do people flock here to catch a glimpse of Andrew and his daughters?

Think everyone has forgotten the millions of pounds the Royal Family bring in every year

I read an article over the weekend which said she was moving from a four bed apartment to a three bed cottage and was paying the rent herself.

Whatever the monarchy costs a Presidency costs more and you have the pantomime such as in USA every four years or whatever - it is bad enough having the Olympics, football World Cup and Rugby World Cup (plus more) - every four years and General Elections without adding regular Presidential elections into the mix .

Harry has a cottage in KP, perhaps he has fallen behind with the rent and been evicted

I am in favour of the Royal Family, but for some reason, I too did a bit of a double-take about Eugenie.
I cant quite work out why. May be a case of out of sight, out of mind for me? If she is in a flat somewhere, fair enough, but I am not sure why moving into Kensington Palace cottage seems a step too far for me.

Yes she was in Newcastle. Not sure how safe she was, her security unit were never far away.. I refuse to have them ALL locked up here. If London is too dangerous I suggest they are passed around the country staying in different places for fixed periods. We've already had Eugenie so it's someone elses turn!

Somebody should make a reality TV show- "Royal hangers on on Benefits"- how useless and clueless members of the Royal family live lives of luxury.
Episode 1. Eugenie searches for a new home because St. James Palace just won't do.
Episode 2. Eugenie and boyfriend party at his club and find the perfect cottage for free.

I suppose her boyfriend will be moving in - will he be paying his way? He could open a nightclub in the palace - could call it " Charlie's".

I wonder if this is because the silly girl gave a very detailed interview very recently about her life. It included the area she lived in, the coffee shop she used and her gym.

Security experts were quick to point out she had trashed her security .

Maybe this is in response to that?
