Cornergran, he`s never the jolliest of people, but he`s excelled himself lately!
Wot, I only had to go a day and a half without food when I was in hospital, but it was awful seeing everyone else tucking in, especially as the food at our local hospital is quite good, but don`t order the ice cream!

Why no ice cream number? What do they do to it? I have resolved to stop moaning about the build - it's going to go on for ages yet and there will be more interesting things to moan about .

Cornergran, it`s not like ice cream at all. I wondered why it was brought at the same time as the main meal, thinking in that heat that it would melt, but it doesn`t melt, so by my reckoning it can`t be proper ice cream. Plus, it tastes yucky!

Hmm. Sounds nothing like ice cream number definitely best avoided. Wonder if it contravenes the trades descriptions act? .

Morning all !
I've spent the morning testing a couple of paper cuts for a designer so I've added a couple of pictures ! ( although I do disagree with her spelling Nana!!) Other than that its a tidy up day ready for another open day on Saturday ( but not before I've checked with the estate agents that someone is actually coming

Then this afternoon we are off for afternoon tea at Patisserie Valerie courtesy of Groupon and Grampy !!

I feel for you ann , I hope the infection heals without the need for further intervention. My daughter with the large hole in her thigh was telling me how the agency nurse came to repack the wound . The next day when the District Nurse came and she tried to unpack it she found that the previous nurse had used gauze which of course stuck to the healing flesh and when she tried to unpack it , it took layers of semi healed skin with it . Not only being very painful but setting her back at least a week.

The DN told her not to let any nurse pack her leg unless she was happy they were doing it correctly. She said that after all these weeks my daughter knows how it works, so never be afraid to question them.

Yes * Kitty* they make my day and certainly fill my life with a lot of love and laughter.

Number said Nun chucks have arrived ( thankfully made of foam) so my little ninja warrior will be pleased ! I'm not sure where we get our energy from but there are days when I wonder where I get my sanity from

Oh I love that Mrs wobblybits beat you with machine made bread (Wobblybits) I just got rid of my bread maker as I had no success with it at all !!!

Having slept on my defeat, I now realise that I should have pride in my bread.
The flour was tradiionally milled flour from Load Mill
The salt was Maldon Sea salt, which I ground in a pestal and morter by hand
The oil, was virgin rapeseed oil from a local farm
The yeast was started and only added when it was live and flourishing
The oven was equipped with baking stones etc.
The dough was kneaded by hand.
The loaves where shaped by hand.
So everything was chosen and prepared with love. Ahhhhhh

SHE --- used Tesco flour and just bunged everything in in one go and left the machine to it. Uguuuuuuu

So how the hell did SHE beat me again. Grrrrrrr

But her bread does taste bloody good, just had some with cheese for lunch.

Seen Doc this after noon with my hip, he seems to think that replacement is probable and has requested an xray. Here we go again

I am seriously thinking of offering my services to the CEO of one of the largest double glazing companies in the country. My zilch knowledge of repair works far surpasses anybody's sent to repair anything here.

The sealant outside and in was to be replaced and sealant applied under the window sill. the latter was done but builder's caulk used for filling gaps was applied outside so every window has a dirty looking grey strip.

The fellow was allocated an hour to do inside and out although somebody was sent to "assess" the work weeks ago and he decided it was a 2 man job for 3 hours.

His manager rang him after a couple of hours and told him to stop work here and go on to the next job! I was delighted as you can imagine. Nobody bothered to get in touch with me, I have only had 3 missed appointments for this job.

I informed the manager that when the fellow returns he will staying here until every task is finished and I am happy.

I am definitely wasted remaining retired when I could be earning excellent dosh. That firm could not organise a p***up in a brewery.Rant over.

DGS (4 3/4) is having an MRI scan of a lump on the back of his calf tomorrow at Birmingham Children's. DD hoping it is just a Baker's cyst, but of course every so often my stomach lurches.

One of mine had a lump in his groin. I was a wreck waiting for a phone call from DD to say everything was ok, which it was.

Daphne a Baker's cyst is always at the back of the knee- is that where it is? It is also normally filled with fluid which one can feel. I will keep the fingers and toes crossed. Whatever it is, it has been found early.

Don't want to think about it too much - googling was given me the heebie - jeebies

No news is good news today in this house after a terrible day yesterday !! Relative to some of the woes of others here in the kitchen of course.

Afternoon tea was a non event as they had sold out by 2pm :-(

My toastie from Starbucks as a consolation prize was rubbish ( no cheese) !!

Couldn't get out of the car park, then had to pay extra because of the delays.

Lets hope today is a good news kind of day :-) xx
