GP appointments - any improvements?

Ive never had any problems at my gp surgery, I can ring as soon as they open at 8am and always get a same dau appointment. I can also book an appointment on line if I need to. Although signed up with a named gp I dont care who I see Im just thankful I can get an appointment.

I have felt awful for the last few days and last night thought I was going to pass out so decided I'd better see my GP.

Having had a few sessions of having to send DH out at the crack of dawn to queue for an appointment for me I was preparing to sit by phone for ages before I got through. The phone was answered at the second time of trying and I have got an appointment at 11.00 - no questions asked.

The only downside is that they can't say which of 2 GPs it will be with - I'm not keen on one of them and haven't seen the other, although DH and DS like her.

I was really impressed. Have things improved in your areas?
