If this is to be a virtual party, I'm sure us men would be up for supplying the cabaret (any one got a peaked cap ?)

How about the Full Monty? The cabaret not us. Got to be full skirt with sugared petticoats and nylons .Drainpipe trousers and brothel creepers for the men .

24th September 1948 so I have a couple of years to go - I'll bring one of my famous lokshen puddings to have as a dessert.

DH was 70 in June so can we come I am a spring chicken at 63- I will bring food and wine.

I like the idea of entertainment. Most 60s groups would suit me, being an old rock and roller.

Now what shall we wear ? Any favourites from our 'yooth' and let's pretend we can still fit in them. Well perhaps some of us still can, but the short skirts and drainpipe trousers might reveal a bit too much.

I'm still 70 from last September. May I come? I'll bring a wheel of Brie,gruyere tartlets and my melon balls with prawns in watercress mayonnaise in a melon . How Seventies is that?

My birthday's Sept 1948 (DH is Feb '47) I'll bring some homemade wine and limoncello.

Or The Kinks, or Ray Davis on his own.

A cabaret is a brilliant idea - how about a Beatles Tribute Band or The Stones live, bit too expensive I guess.

Lots of sweet stuff already so paella and sticky ribs from me. Can't believe where the years have gone especially when I have to scroll further and further down to find 1946 when giving birth year.

I had my 70th last April and my family and friends gave me a great time. I had several celebrations over a few weeks (interrupted by two weeks jury duty just before my 70th!).

I was bought champagne and still have two bottles left but don't expect me to contribute that!!!!!!!!!!

I am bringing two large quiches . I make a mean quiche. One traditional and one smoked salmon.

Great idea! I was 70 on 7th June. Instead of a party, I've been having on-going special treats to celebrate - holiday in Jersey with family, dinner cruise on the Thames, tea parties and on Saturday I have tickets with three friends to see 'Jersey Boys' which my daughter kindly gave me!

I am veggie and will think of something nice to bring (but it won't involve goat's cheese - yuk!).

Where have the last 10 years gone??

Ah well if Ann and Gaga are going, may I come too (1940). I do have a few memories, I.e. Sirens and all-clears and the shelter. I'll bring something nice to eat, not sure yet what.

DH and I are both War Babies too but don't remember the war at all. I feel much more part of the post-war boomers generation as that's when I grew up.

(If I can come to the party I will willingly do the washing up)

My cousins were born in the 1930s. Our experiences are similar in some ways and very different in others. I love hearing my cousins talking about life during the war. My dh (sadly passed away) was born in 1944 and technically was a War Baby and not a Boomer. For some reason he was very pleased about that.
