Well at least this poster has reminded us it's the school holidays. Probably one of last years bored teenagers come back again. I wonder how they expected us to respond?

You vote to cut free education, all the while increasing pensions and end of life NHS care. You stopped housebuilding (NIMBYs), and made even owning a house an impossible dream for most young people.
Then you Brexit us, stealing the future we wanted for ourselves, while you won't even get to see the effect.
You will go down in history as the worst, most selfish generation in the history of the UK. The books about your arrogant mistakes and stupid voting are already being written.
One choice now, vote to cut the NHS and pensions, if you don't, you know how the future will judge you. Selfish idiots.

Oh, of course, the school holidays have started. So AYP has too much time on his/her hands, as he can't be misbehaving in class and messing the poor teachers about. Perhaps spending the next 6 weeks reading about the last 50 years or so might give him/her/it/them a more balanced view and a better control of his misplaced anger and language!
I doubt if he is out of bed yet.
so pleased he/she isnt my grandchild! doesnt say much for the love for his/her grandparents either!
What I find amusing is that he/she hasnt come back in response to any of our comments!
I am wondering if this has been posted by some newspaper reporter hoping to wind people up. They seem to like doing that sort of thing and catching people out. Will probably see some of our comments posted in one of the lower type papers.
more than likely Millymouge, I expect its the daily mail!

In answer to your question, no we ARE NOT.
if you think you are so clever can I suggest you get off your backside, find a well paid job and earn enough money to buy yourself somewhere to live. We Gransnet generation did with few of the opportunities you have today.
What is it with this generation of young people that they think they are owed a living.
If young students studied more and did less partying they would end up with good degrees with better prospects.
Get a grip and stop your wingeing or you're going to have a very sad life.
The world doesn't owe you a living. Bloody cheek.
AYP Also we are generous, patient and empathetic . Which you, most certainly are not.
May I respectfully suggest that you PISS OFF
This sound like a wind up to me, he/she just wants to get people agitated, ignore the silly bugger
Grow up.
Sadly I suspect he probably is grown up. Chronogically at least
seems to forget about the majority of under 25s who did not bother to vote
Well, I couldn't have put it better myself, thank you gransnetters, I have heard these arguments before, if you can call them arguments, but gransnetters have united in expressing the absolute truth of how it was for us. Anya, you summed it all up so well, thank you.
Rafichagran,I entirely agree. The OP is trying to stir up a response. Best ignored.
Definitely baiting us. Definitely best ignored.
AllYoungPeople is mugging us off. WetBehindTheEars is a better name.
Are you just trying to wind us up?
The post war baby boomer generation is not one homogenous mass, a very high proportion, like myself, are liberal and left wing. Jeremy Corbyn is a baby boomer, as are many of those around him. Clearly some of this generation are conservative, support right wing policies, and voted for Brexit. But this applies too to many of the young and middle aged (the so-called Thatcher generation).
I did benefit from university grants, and am shocked and disappointed by the introduction of fees, leaving graduates with high rates of debt as they start their careers.
We didn't necessary have it easy when we were young either, I personally, like many others, struggled to find a job during one of the many recessions we experienced, did not get any parental financial support whatsoever, and could not afford a mortgage until well into my thirties.
So grow up - and if you want to argue such points, please adopt a more evidence based, nuanced approach!
hear hear Anya they are a very privileged generation who have always had just what they wanted thanks to the availability of credit and generous parents and grandparents, they are now acting like spoilt brats which is what happens when kids get it all
Why don't you, whoever you are, go and cry in your Happy Hour cocktails.
Anya and Daphnebroon . . . great responses!
Think AllYoungPeople a bit of a stirrer who likes to sit back and watch......
Well done Gnetters some great replies too many to mention.
I am also sick of hearing some young people say they can't now go and live in the EU, how many of them would actually have done that and where exactly do they want to live and work Greece?Albania?Croatia? and no they just wanted to cherrypick where they went - how shortsighted of them.
This senior citizen, like many of my generation, did have it all - an insecure childhood at the end of the war with rationing, not always enough to eat and a one-parent mother because father died in the war. At school we had classes of forty plus (not that it did us any harm because teachers didn't have to behave as policemen) and boring textbooks. Many of us had jobs at sixteen or younger because our families needed our wages and if girls were lucky, they had one best dress and not a wardrobe of designer jeans. I could go on for ever about what we had. When is ageism going to be considered a hate crime? I voted to remain and so did most of my friends. And did the crowds at Glastonbury arrange postal votes before they went?
Dear AYP (if you are still looking at replies to your post), it is true that politicians have been "courting" the grey vote for years. That is because they are the ones who mainly vote.
I haven't seen statistics for the age ranges of people who voted Leave and I don't know your age, but it could be (as others have said) that they include many young people of your age.
Are you suggesting the NHS should stop spending money on terminally ill people who are older so that they should just be left to die more quickly and in more pain? What is the proportion of all NHS money that is spent on end of life care (a percentage will do)?
How did we "older people" collectively stop house building"? It conjures up a picture of us collectively throwing away our cement mixers and trowels! You are incorrect abour NIMBYs only being older people. There are plenty of "younger" people who oppose new developments near them. And what about the developers who are sitting on development land? Are they all oldies as well?
I think it's a disgrace that we aren't building more homes and letting the Buy-to-Let market rip and I expect many others here agree. No recent Government has done enough about it despite all the planning rules having been relaxed to encourage development and the Government has for too long allowed anyone to buy up land and property in the UK for money-laundering purposes, driving up prices for everyone - including older people.
I would respectfully suggest that if you really want to persuade people about how public money could be saved and put to uses that would be more heplful to young people, you avoid blaming one particular group of people as if they carefully planned it all so that your generation would suffer.
This is not only bordering on the paranoid, it just comes across as insulting.
