We are in the new bungalow and have just been connected to superfast fibre broadband!! We moved in on the 8th and it is looking pretty civilized already as long as you do not look in the garage, the shed, the summer house or the spare bedroom! Views from the living room are spectacular with wonderful sunsets.

Bungalow is great - we no longer have to climb stairs, but seem to walk miles instead!!

Downside is I have been down with this darned summer flu , but am starting to surface now.

Move went pretty smoothly - but I am not, definitely not, doing it again!!!

Sounds rather divine lucky

TwiceAsNice Mon 18-Jul-16 18:03:01

Hope you settle in well and enjoy it. I am moving out of my rented house on Thursday and furniture going into storage and going to be living with my daughter for several months as the flat I bought off plan is delayed and not built yet. Add to that I am retiring this week and finishing up in two jobs plus saying goodbye to loads of people as moving out of the area, I agree I'm not doing it again either!

It's good to know there is life after 'the move' Lucky .

I take heart that it all works out, currently it all seems crazy smile and hard work!!

Hope you feel better soon x

I'm sure the move will be worth it in the end, it is a big upheaval. Hope you start to feel better soon.

BBbevan Mon 18-Jul-16 18:57:30

Oh I do envy you. We are still at the viewing stage so have to keep grass cut and everything clean and tidy.
Really hope you enjoy your new home. smile

I have been to see my neighbour in her new bungalow today. It is 5 minutes away in the car and she came for me to see it.
I was so relieved because she has very considerably downsized for purely financial reasons. It is rather small and twee but she is so happy and I send you all the best wishes for the same outcome.
She has a new lease on life.

Luckygirl You certainly did it in record time and I'm so glad you're enjoying your bungalow. I moved on the 9th and I'm never doing it again either! ?
I've finished my unpacking and I'm off to buy a small zip up wardrobe tomorrow to hang the last of my many clothes.
I love my flat, it's spacious and light and in lovely surroundings. In fact I can't believe how lucky I am ?
I am totally exhausted though.

Get better soon lucky, horrid to be ill but so pleased you are happy in your bungalow already. Your flat sounds super lona, it worked out for you too. Hang on in there twice, sounds a big week with endings. Lots to look forward to, though. We did the big move three years ago, to a definitely twee bungalow, sometimes think it's good we don't have a cat to swing, but we have all the space we need and are happy, definitively agree, never again smile.

What nice news luckygirl- about the move not the summer cold. It sounds lovely. I'm sure you'll be very happy there!

annsixty Mon 18-Jul-16 21:35:48

Every good wish Lona enjoy that balcony this week. This may be summer.

Lona Mon 18-Jul-16 21:46:04

ann ? Hope you're feeling a bit better xx

Luckygirl Mon 18-Jul-16 22:06:52

It seems we are not alone in making a move. I send all good wishes to everyone selling/buying/moving. There are lots of adjustments and it has been very hard work, but I am hoping that it will all be worth it. And I hope the same for everyone in the same situation.

TwiceAsNice - I hope the builders get a move on!

Lona - I cannot believe that you moved in the 9th and have finished unpacking - that is truly impressive.

Lona Mon 18-Jul-16 22:18:21

Don't forget that there's only me Lucky and I've lost count of the boxes of stuff that have gone to the charity shops. I did try to take my time but the boxes kept calling me ?

grannyqueenie Tue 19-Jul-16 06:12:41

Glad to hear you're in and settled Lucky, no wonder you succumbed to a virus moving is emotionally and physically draining. I'm never doing it again either.wink

Anya Tue 19-Jul-16 06:58:21

Good to hear you sounding so happy lucky sunshine

Nelliemoser Tue 19-Jul-16 07:08:05

Luckygirl It's good to hear you find your new home has worked out for you. I hope you feel better soon.

rubylady Tue 19-Jul-16 07:29:56

Lucky You truly are, it sounds wonderful. Just sit back now and enjoy, and of course, get better. I ended up with a chest infection when I moved, it wore me out. I do envy you being all on one level though, that would make my life so much easier and I will start to look for something in the next few years. flowers for your new home.

Lona I would be the same, it's like Christmas, undoing all the parcels and boxes and forgetting what you had put in, it's very exciting. But make sure that you rest up a bit too. Congrats. smile

TwiceAsNice Gosh, you do have a lot of changes going on in your life at the moment. You must feel a little dizzy with all that is going on. To give up work and move home is huge, take your time and look after yourself. I hope you enjoy your time at your daughter's home. Good luck with the forthcoming move. X

ninathenana Tue 19-Jul-16 07:39:49

Every happiness in your new homes those moved and moving smileflowerswine
My friend moved many times and spent years either living in a large caravan on the plot her husband was building their next home on or a year or two in the new house before he wanted to start again.
She could unpack, including pictures on the wall by the end of day two as she'd done it so many times.

rubylady Tue 19-Jul-16 07:40:00

Can we have any photos of your new places please? smile

Riverwalk Tue 19-Jul-16 08:07:30

I'm in the mood for a change of scene - very envious of you recent movers!

Off for a fix of Rightmove smile

Bellanonna Tue 19-Jul-16 08:52:21

luckygirl it seems only the other day you were pondering shall we/shouldn't we? It's all happened so quickly, which is great, and you still have lovely views. Well done on the decision. Everything will fall into place eventually.
