Just had a phone call , I am going in next Monday to have my knee done.
All hands on deck now with arrangements but the good news is that the date is far more convenient for family to be here.

Charleygirl Wed 03-Aug-16 10:29:23

annsixty the minute you are admitted later this month for your knee replacement, I would state how worried you are that you have insufficient help for DH when you return home and see if they can help from that angle.

I was kept in for 7 days post op and even then I was totally befuddled when I did arrive home, mainly because of pain and lack of adequate pain relief.

Daphne so pleased you had the chance to spend the day with Flynn* he looks so well, are his feeding problems getting better? He certainly isn't a whingy baby by looking at his grin.

Charleygirl Wed 03-Aug-16 07:37:29

Nelliemoser I do hope that you had a decent night and you are feeling better. Please, please, give the kitchen a miss this morning for your cup of coffee because I do not wish to catch the lurgy!

Annsixty, you look beautiful in the photo, you really do.

Charleygirl Tue 02-Aug-16 21:42:28

I agree, numberplease that little fellow knows how to wrap his gran and probably both parents around his little finger. He looks very well.

Pleased to hear Daphne that it was an event free day and you did not have to rush home.

Linsco56 Tue 02-Aug-16 21:39:45

annsixty That is a lovely photo. Your dress is beautiful and you look as a bride should look, very demure. Happy anniversary.

DaphneBroon Tue 02-Aug-16 20:56:11

Happy Aniversary ann60!! ???
Lovely dress, not old fashioned, classic. Reminds me of Princess Margaret's.
Well I got my away day today visiting DD and littlest fella . Still floating on a granny cloud. We had lunch, took him and their dog for a walk, had a cup of tea then I came home. Oh and some cuddles!!

dustyangel Tue 02-Aug-16 20:49:24

and cheers! wine

Your dress is absolutely lovely.

oldgoat Tue 02-Aug-16 20:32:17

ann sorry it's a bit late in the day but I hope you have had a happy anniversary.I thought your wedding photo was lovely. I had a lucky silver horseshoe and also a silver boot to carry along with my bouquet.
I wonder when brides stopped being given these good-luck charms? You made a very handsome couple.

Lovely photo ann. Happy anniversary. Yes you should make the effort because your DH is not the way he is through choice. I have mentioned before that my brother has dementia (very advanced and in a care home) he has no idea who I am or what I am saying BUT the other day he told my SIL that he loved her. Out of the blue. Although the memory seems to be gone, I am sure love lingers inside somewhere. Love is a very powerful emotion. I hope you both enjoy your anniversary flowers

Nellie have a wee dram (as Soop would say) I am sure it will do you good wine

Nelliemoser Tue 02-Aug-16 18:44:41

Hello! I need a corner where I can sit and sniffle and cough and not give anyone my lurgy. I thought my cold was clearing up yesterday but it's come back.

soop Tue 02-Aug-16 18:00:57

Slainte! annsixty and your husband. A very satisfactory choice. Enjoy the bubbles (and the drink) wine

annsixty Tue 02-Aug-16 17:49:10

We are having Prossecco.?

soop Tue 02-Aug-16 17:31:22

annsixty If your husband could celebrate this special day with you, he would. You are doing your very best to keep the cogs of your relationship turning. I admire you. Should my own husband or I develop dementia, we agree that we shall do our utmost to cope with the slow but relentless changes in personality that are part and parcel of the condition. We may not succeed - but we'll do what we can. You are right...if you can have pleasure celebrating your anniversary then you should treat yourself to a glass of wine and remember, although Us lot are virtual friends we do care for you and wish you well. If you lived nearby, I would pop in with a bottle of bubbly. flowers

Happy Anniversary Ann and hubby, such a lovely photo. The dress is lovely.

Galen Tue 02-Aug-16 17:16:23

Happy anniversary

annsixty Tue 02-Aug-16 16:21:09

Thank you all for your good wishes .
I have now told H as I am doing a special meal but there was little or no reaction.
I didn't think I should let it go for my own sake.

mrshat Tue 02-Aug-16 16:08:42

annsixty Happy Anniversary - what a lovely photo! A time of elegance, unfortunately long gone flowers

Charleygirl Tue 02-Aug-16 14:59:53

Happy anniversary annsixty, a beautiful photo showing a handsome fellow with his pretty bride.

soop another fabulous photo.

This has been a day from hell starting at 3.45am with a power cut which lasted until 2.30pm. I have had my stairlift and fridge/freezer screaming, telling me that they were running out of juice to run- not a lot that I could do. UK Power Networks, based in Ipswich were so helpful. This has been going on since March, at times weekly- I am keeping my fingers crossed that this is now the end of it all.

To finish off this perfect day I did not win a penny from my premium bonds!
