I bet Galens grand son has a rather scrunched up face and a cross look. Who elses newborns look any different this early in life?

soop Sat 06-Aug-16 14:02:25

DaphneB How is it that you can add the wee baby face?

soop Sat 06-Aug-16 13:58:53

annsixty I would like white hair. In my mid-years, it was chestnut with reddish highlights.

Galen Fair enough. You will hopefully be able to describe baby...hair colour and such. Us lot would love to know. Not so much nosy as inquisitive, smile

DaphneBroon Sat 06-Aug-16 13:55:46

He looks not unlike this soop ? (Actually, nothing like!!!)

DaphneBroon Sat 06-Aug-16 13:55:02

Charleygirl DH might like to come too!
Reminds me of obe DGS's birthday party which was, shall we say, noisy, so the other GPS and we repaired to the sitting room which has been designated a "quiet zone" for GP s or new babies.
After 20 minutes SIL snuck in saying he needed a break, 10 minutes later D D came too leaving the DGC , his guests and no doubt assorted mums to get on with it!!

Galen Sat 06-Aug-16 13:52:27

Photos only allowed for people I actually know. Sorry! Darling daughter's rules

annsixty Sat 06-Aug-16 13:49:23

Love the photos soop you look lovely , but I am always amazed how hair changes colour so differently. Yours is a beautiful grey and mine is, and has been for many years, white.
It is a lovely day here really warm and I am doing a Charleygirl and washing everything in sight. No more will get done I suppose until my D comes next Saturday.

soop Sat 06-Aug-16 13:19:56

Galen That's some bonnie boy. Hung about until he was absolutely certain of making a memorable entrance into the world. He's a Leo. I'm a Leo. When will you get first cuddles? Soon us lot hope. We want photos. Congratulations to your daughter. flowers in abundance. [SUNSHINE]

OLDGOAT The dresses were organdie? organza? One or the other. My mother didn't make them but she did knit our cotton socks.

Jalima I shall add pics of my hair do. It's not unlike how I used to wear it. Had three or four inches cut off. It's unruly (the way I prefer it) but is has more body, as it is very thin and fine. I like the word "shizzy". grin

G&T Boy, that finger will be sore for some time. I hope that you have a decent dressing on it. Remember to wear rubber gloves when washing the dishes. wink

DaphneB Your sense of humour is boundless and should help you to survive invasion. You'll be in our thoughts, especially Grace.

Charleygirl Sat 06-Aug-16 12:18:34

Galen Congratulations, that is some weight- I am amazed that he popped out and did not need lots of help.

Daphne there is a quiet home for Grace here anytime, especially as Tara is out until late evening. Grace will have a problem finding a quiet spot for a bit of shuteye in her house, it is an exhausting life there for her.

Seriously, you must try to rest also- get the children to "help".

GandTea you know that you are not allowed to go near sharp implements and this is the end result. I agree, the shop keeper is at fault selling you the secateurs and not asking your age.

dustyangel Sat 06-Aug-16 11:52:51

Congratulations Galen and DD. ?? flowers
I'm glad everyone is safe and well including you. smile

Galen Sat 06-Aug-16 11:51:59

Ambulance and community midwife got there in time.

DaphneBroon Sat 06-Aug-16 11:45:30

Excellent news Galen!! ??
Who delivered him, SIL?

Galen Sat 06-Aug-16 11:41:43

Dgs has decided to put in a delayed appearance into this world.
Typical male, everyone waiting for them then they arrive late and in a hurry. Darling daughter didn't have time to get to hospital so an unplanned home birth. All ok an he's a bruiser at 8lb 15oz

DaphneBroon Sat 06-Aug-16 09:47:55

Lovely Saturday morning and I am girding my loins for all 3 Brum DGCs arrival this afternoon for what kids euphemistically call a sleepover while their Mummy and Daddy party like they used to when they were single hmm
All I can say if there had better not be a hangover tomorrow morning as I will have put in a full day's work by the time I would normally get out of bed on a Sunday.
And if there is no sleeping on the part of the little ones I will sue under the trade description act.
DH and Grace don't know what they are in for.
Planning my Sunday afternoon nap alreadysmile

GandTea Sat 06-Aug-16 09:14:32

Given the amount it bled, I doubt any germs could have swum against the flow.

millymouge Sat 06-Aug-16 09:05:17

GandTea sounds most painful. Hope you are up to date with your tetanus injections. Where we are in Essex there are supposed to be some nasty little things in the soil, and we were warned by nurse at the doctors to be very careful.

Nelliemoser Sat 06-Aug-16 08:46:29

G&T It's a wonder they sold you them didn't they ask your age?
I hope it gets better soon. It does not good for your Gig though.

GandTea Sat 06-Aug-16 08:37:58

The lesson to be learnt is -- don't go pruning roses after a couple of G&T's.

numberplease Fri 05-Aug-16 23:19:58

GandT, didn`t they come with a warning that they were a bit sharp?

Tizliz Fri 05-Aug-16 21:33:17

That wasn't very clever GandTea, better leave it to the grown ups next time ?

GandTea Fri 05-Aug-16 21:04:20

P.... off, got a big ukulele gig on Sunday and I have just taken the top off my finger with the new Secateurs I bought today.

Jalima Fri 05-Aug-16 20:19:21

whizz not shizz, although it felt a bit shizzy at the time wink

Jalima Fri 05-Aug-16 20:18:48

Some good advice from Charleygirl annsixty - however, be careful whizzing around on a computer chair as I leaned sideways in mine and it slid from under me and I landed on the floor underneath it!! I still shizz around on it though!

What a lovely picture of you and your sister soop. I had curly blonde hair as a child but nowadays it is dark and very unruly. I have given up on trying to grow a lovely smooth bob, even so it needs taming most days.

oldgoat Fri 05-Aug-16 19:39:32

Love the photo of you and your sister soop. Our family is also blessed with curly hair but it doesn't so much grow longer as bigger.
What pretty dresses. Did your mother make them?

soop Fri 05-Aug-16 18:08:55

number If you add 70 years worth of wrinkles etchings to my face, you'll have a good idea of what the hairdo looks like. It is very curly yet more manageable. I shall continue to pile it up on top my head. Such a blessing not to need to continually faff with it.

ann Yes, we shall all be thinking of you. We shall also look forward to hearing from you after the surgery. You will have excellent pain control. More flowers xx
