Hi I dont know what to get my grandson for his birthday. He is turning 12 next week he asked me to surprise him he didn't ask for a specific present.

There's nothing actually funny about a boy having dance lessons.

Bellanonna Thu 30-Jun-16 22:43:30

Is it ballet, or tap maybe?

Elrel Thu 30-Jun-16 22:53:52

Too right, Jings, look what ballet classes did for Carlos Acosta! His father sent him to keep him off the streets and out of trouble!

Alea Thu 30-Jun-16 23:16:38

No indeed jingl my DGS (6) has been selected for free ballet lessons for a year from Royal Ballet. Not mocking the dance lessons. hmm

My GS is 12 tomorrow - actually in about 25 minutes from now! Hard cash is what he wants. He is very good at saving up for what he really wants - usually computer related and I wouldn't be any good at choosing anything like that for him.

Didn't notice anyone mocking dance lessons. The veracity of the whole thread, possibly, yes

Grantj10 Fri 01-Jul-16 17:39:40

He's having brake dance lessons

MiniMouse Fri 01-Jul-16 18:14:06

So he won't dance too fast, presumably? grin

Jomarie Fri 01-Jul-16 19:12:49

What a brilliant thread - have laughed out loud for the first time in a week! Thanks. The answer is probably "money - "That's what I want" (as the song goes) grin

Stop, stop!! I'm crying.....??

Katek Fri 01-Jul-16 19:14:26

Ooh, my emojis worked!

Cherrytree59 Fri 01-Jul-16 19:20:44

Grantj do you remember your grandparents?
Did they buy you presents?

phoenix Fri 01-Jul-16 22:25:18

Ah Cherrytree perhaps grandparents these days buy different sort of presents!

I remember getting a brilliant woodworking tool kit (at my request) for my 10th birthday , and a boxed set of the complete chronicles of Narnia, but perhaps I was an odd child?

breeze Fri 01-Jul-16 22:50:46

Mmmm, brake dancing. May split his onesie. Ballroom? Maybe we will see him on Strictly! In a gown, of course! Pink, naturally! wink

phoenix Sat 02-Jul-16 01:41:00

Not entirely sure about that post breeze

breeze Sat 02-Jul-16 09:00:12

It's been going on for a while P. Read whole thing, previous thread on him being gay (aged 11) and previous thread re his pink onesie and ugg boots and you'll get my post! It's been a lot of fun.

breeze Sat 02-Jul-16 09:01:04

oh you did, seen you way back, apologies, don't get yours then!

Grantj10 Sat 02-Jul-16 13:37:29

He wodulnt wear his onesie when he's at dance lessons

breeze Sat 02-Jul-16 13:39:42

Ok, Ok, I give in, let's go the leotard route! How about a fetching pair of leg warmers to go with?

annodomini Sat 02-Jul-16 14:13:38

Lovely selection of dancing shoes here

myzdamena72 Sat 02-Jul-16 14:21:07

He hates reading?

..omg then I'm completely stumped. Thankfully all my family have interests that people write loads of books about ...so finding a present isn't a problem

Would he read a non fiction book about one of his interests? It could be a gateway into liking books?

MiniMouse Sat 02-Jul-16 14:23:39

Ah, but Anno would he be able to fit his brakes inside the shoes?

breeze Sat 02-Jul-16 14:53:36

Uh, weeping, do you know, if this thread goes I shall lose my mind. Do you think it's David Mitchell?????? If it wasn't so politically incorrect, there would be a sketch here!!!! Oh stop it.

breeze Sat 02-Jul-16 14:54:19

Mini I forgot to tell you the tall/binoculars earlier was inspired!

phoenix Sat 02-Jul-16 20:15:53

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what the next thread might be??????
