I thought for one glorious moment that the strong solution of Vanish was to banish the awful news!( for those who haven't read earlier posts, it was actually to get rid of tea stain on carpet). If only it were as simple as that!

The desperate feeling of uncertainty and the prospect of its continuing with no positive end in sight is bad enough fallout for me.

what fallout Poly? all it is at the moment is speculation from all quarters!!!

poly I think the thread was started as a way of getting us to focus on coping strategies. Of course our minds will keep coming back, but suggestions of glasses of wine, a good book, magnums and anything else that helps is always a positive distraction. I'm about to clean out the frig with radio in the background. Not news though! Might go for a drive later on as the hedgerows are extraordinarily beautiful this year. The sight of them really does lift my spirits, if just momentarily. So wishing everyone on here happy distractions. Mmmmm maybe the wine will be the winner,

I think the referendum is the real news! I cannot remember such momentous events taking place in my lifetime ever before. The fallout from this sad and bad decision is far reaching. How can you not think this is the real news is beyond me.

Nothing's worked for me as yet, not even wine and chocolate. I think it'll just take time.

Finished my book this morning so will have to set to and find another distraction. Or just get on to Amazon and add to my Kindle library. Of course, there's always the football (!) and then, weather permitting, tomorrow sees the start of Wimbledon. I could do some ironing of course... Let's not go there.

I cut the garden hedge. An awful job, but I was knackered afterwards and slept for 10.5 hours last night. Perfect. Even woke up feeling more positive, I wonder if it will last.
I didn't have Magnums in the freezer, only cheap ice lollies, but they helped with the hedge cutting too.

Reading my book at the moment so that helps. Also moaning about the great British summer

love my sunday paper, the only time i buy one, today wasted my money, it is completely taken over by the referendum, so disappointed because it usually takes me a couple of days to read it including the interesting supplements.

Falconbird a strong solution of Vanish might help. Also don't rub. Put soft cloths on wet patch when you've put on Vanish and stack heavy things on top- or walk on it. Repeat until cloth put on is dry. Hope this helps.

I've decided that any more comments on the Brexit vote will only polarise peoples' ideologies and cause even more division in our society, fracturing neighbourhoods families and friendships.

We are at a dangerous place, whatever our views we need to reunite to be the people we have always been, generous and committed to our neighbours whoever they are.
The politicians are tearing their parties apart in a desperate struggle for power and self survival, at the moment they will do or say anything to gain short term approval in an ungodly scramble to reach the top pushing anyone off the parapet to get there.
- We must try to calm things down- after all we are millions they are few, we do not need to be sheep and follow the loudest.
I sincerely hope we can negotiate a fair deal for our country and our children but to do that histrionics must be left behind. We are a great nation, we are a united nation we are a tolerant nation, please let us continue to be so.

I'm worried about how to get a tea stain out of my carpet. Spilt a whole cup of tea on it. The carpet is a light lemon colour.

I'm wondering if the sales of Magnums have rocketed since the decision- suppose it's some sort of bright side.
Will wine prices rocket? Oh no more misery!
I'm off to lead a history walk around my local area.

Drink some Spanish wine and look at replacing it before the tariffs rocket.

Take the dog for a long walk, always helps to calm a sense of crisis.

Do some ironing. I find it therapeutic.

This made me really laugh out loud - thanks, Nanaand Grampy! At least we old folks can still smile, no matter how bad things look. Was in local caff with MIL yesterday discussing how it's going to affect our savings when the chap on the next table suggested he'd withdrawn his £4.10 from the bank and was going to put it under his mattress, as the interest was going to be higher than he's getting already!

I have been very busy this weekend but the horrible reality keeps flashing back. It's too B scary particularly the financial mess we are now in.

I will take to my garden if I can. Tying in shrubs is very relaxing.
