Guess the result?

Blimey, I'm ashamed to say I'd never heard about that, petra (I've just had to google it). Shocking. I've never been a fan of dishing out postal votes on demand to all and sundry, which seems to have caused most of the trouble. I feel we should go back to a system of their being allowed only when the elector can prove that they can't physically get to the polling station.

I still don't see who would be able to fix this ballot though - there'd have to be a lot of local officials involved, and what would they stand to gain?

I'm probably over-thinking the whole thing now. Roll on Friday, when we can start getting back to normality!

Maggiemaybe After discovering what happened in Tower Hamlets, Thanet etc can you say, hand on heart that it couldn't happen?

Harrigran wink
I have no idea who will win, the polls have it too close to call.

Maggiemaybe Wed 22-Jun-16 20:25:01

What can they possibly know? Unless we're getting into the weird and wonderful world of the conspiracy theorists.

I've just been reading that Ladbrooks are taking big money on remain. It was insinuated that they knew something, nudge nudge, wink wink.
Although I am for leaving I think the remain will get it by a very small margin.

Remain, I trust the British voters to do the right thing for our future, ? good luck anyway to Remain.

Ana Wed 22-Jun-16 19:48:31

harrigran! grin

whitewave Wed 22-Jun-16 19:31:12

You are right of course eloe

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 22-Jun-16 19:30:34

The queen wants out. Apparently.

Apropos of nothing at all.

harrigran Wed 22-Jun-16 19:25:21

I would agree with obieone, just close enough to annoy the Remains and wish they had managed to brainwash convince a few more silly old people of their foolish ways.

Posters for Remain and Leave are about the same in number round here (London) but where my Mum lives (Suffolk), all the posters I've seen are for Leave.

I have no idea what the result will be but, whatever it is, I feel that the people who are usually at the sharp end of policies will remain so. I feel, supporters of both campaigns have been given to expect great things, but I fear it will just be the same old same old. Both this government and the collective governments of the EU have bowed to the might of the banks and used austerity to claw back money from the very poorest.

obieone Wed 22-Jun-16 16:33:33

But noise and signs up are not the silent people.
You could be right though.

tanith Wed 22-Jun-16 16:08:37

IN 10%

Maggiemaybe Wed 22-Jun-16 16:07:10

Judging by my family and friends, I would guess in, 60 - 40.

Badenkate Wed 22-Jun-16 15:57:58

I would have said the silent side this time are those who want to vote in, Obieone. I know it's not been so on here! But generally there's been a lot more noise and signs up from the outers.

hildajenniJ Wed 22-Jun-16 15:49:55

Well... going by a straw poll at a petrol station yesterday, taken by the cashier, I would say leave will win. Perhaps that's wishful thinking. The cashier asked his customers how they were voting. 15 said remain 55said leave!

gettingonabit Wed 22-Jun-16 15:37:08

IN by a larger margin than is being predicted.

Auntieflo Wed 22-Jun-16 15:12:41

Am a bit like Whitewave, but on the whole think IN

whitewave Wed 22-Jun-16 14:55:06

Oh oh oh!

I darent say. Out,no in,no out, no in!!!!!!

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 22-Jun-16 14:32:43

IN by between 5%-10%

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 22-Jun-16 14:04:05

In, by a good margin.

Charleygirl Wed 22-Jun-16 14:01:58

Remain with 2% between the two sides.

Jane10 Wed 22-Jun-16 14:00:44

Well I (and the bookies who generally get it right) say a resounding IN!

obieone Wed 22-Jun-16 13:57:05

Anyone want to guess the result?

I am going to guess OUT

The silent majority decided last time, and I think people are more inclined to keep quiet if they are going to vote OUT.

I will also guess 52% OUT, 48% IN of those that vote.
