DD recently announced that they were going to try for a baby. I'm one of the younger grans on here but even when we tries it just meant stopping contraception. She explained that you take your temperature everyday (not orally) to establish when you ovulate & then try as often as possible around this time - you then keep taking yout temperature & assess you cervical mucus to see when implantation takes place. Once you are 9 or 10 days past ovulation ( so before your period is due) a lot of the girls on her forum start taking pregnancy tests (cue wailing for negative) which has given rise to announcments of chemical pregnancies, ie the egg gets fertilised but no implantation occurs so they get a positive test but they then have a period. Again cue much distress. Then there is the forum pressure, grown women telling others they need to lie on their back with their legs in the air to conceive, telling each other that a late period means they must be pregnant. Or that once you have a positive test you must keep testing because that's the only way you really can tell it's for real.
I's sure the stress of all this makes it worse.
Luckily DD is pregnant again - after deciding it wasn't going to be her month so she gave up all the rubbish stuff & relaxed.I knew she was pregnant before she tested because she's on her way to a gold medal for peeing & hasn't touched chocolate for over a week. Oh & DS2 & DiL have announced they are having a baby too
Alphalock - like wordle but harder!
