In the magazine section of The Telegraph this morning a singer whose name I cannot recall, was held up as a model of summer styling with her 'playful accessories and nonchalant attitude'. I just wondered if you were sporting something similar yourself this fins Saturday morning - I know I'm not I'm still in my blue and white spotted M & S dressing gown with my hair standing on end. grin

I did see a woman today walking along, wearing loose white linen or cotton trousers, a long-sleeved loose black and cream patterned top with a collar and a large straw hat. She looked very elegant and cool.

(I wasn't wearing the old shorts and t shirt at the time btw but I didn't look elegant or cool either.)

Jalima1108 Wed 21-Jun-17 20:47:05

well, I am feeling quite nonchalant but definitely not very playful.

Iam64 Wed 21-Jun-17 20:26:52

I'm in a long skirt and loose cotton shirt, nowt else

Wearing now't but an all cotton white sheet, draped fetchingly and amusingly to just cover my credentials.grin a bit like a toga, as I am doing nothing very much at the moment.Had to go out this morning so wore a dress and sandals ( and bra and pants of course!)

Actually presentable today in a pair of navy, grey and white, 'White Stuff' loose cotton baggy trousers with a navy cotton tee shirt from MandCo, white rieker slip on sandals.

Cats can be playful and nonchalant, but I can't say that they have much fashion sense, although Oliver Sprout did come in earlier with a grass seed attached to one eyebrow, quite fetching actually.

Some of you are quite posh for lounging around at home shock

Some old M&S shorts (my only pair and only to be worn in the back garden) an oldish t shirt and comfy Earth Spirit sandals.

That's better, home now, temoporarily wearing a Fatface denim dress I bought on the station on my way to the train. It fits and I love it so I'm taking it off. I want to wear it tomorrow to meet other GNetters!

BBbevan Tue 20-Jun-17 19:19:51

Oh and a floppy Panama + factor 50 ?

BBbevan Tue 20-Jun-17 19:18:54

Navy tee shirt. Lime green shorts ( eBay purchase) silver earrings and bracelet and Birkenstocks. Going to a BBQ at DDs

Elrel Tue 20-Jun-17 19:01:19

Galen - as civilised as ever!

Staying with DD, brought only synthetic dress for a smart do I failed to get to. Wearing clothes I'd left here years ago which hadn't made it to the charity shop. M&S tee shirts, two white, one black , I thought were too big - they're not!! New Look brown cotton skirt, the only skirt I own, which came from a charity shop.
One of the tee shirts has become nightwear as the thick cotton nighty I keep here is too hot. Flat Ecco sandals (adjustable straps) abandoned years ago which turn out to be ok.
I intended to buy some hot weather clothes but couldn't face going round the shops. I have however had a hair cut and pedicure so could look even more unkempt!
Worried that tomorrow when I go home I'll have cool dresses and shady hats available so it's bound to rain!

I'm lolling (as usual) in my playful cut offs, which are a faded tomato soup colour, from M&Co, teamed with a slightly mis-shapen tee with a skull printed on the front, from TK Maxx. I am wearing knickers but they are far too small! It doesn't matter because nobody will see any of it.
I've got some tasteful black silky pjs for later, also from TK Maxx!
I do like a bargain.

Well I'm wearing my nightie. Coolest poss thing in the house. DH is in Germany (35°!!) so can't complain. The cat's frowning disapprovingly though. blush

Maggiemaybe Tue 20-Jun-17 18:15:53

DH came in from the allotment and accused me of wearing his socks, Ana. I had to remind him that I used to (cough) run a bit back in the day, that I actually (cough) ran four 10Ks. That I could have been a contender....

TriciaF Tue 20-Jun-17 17:08:52

I'm wearing a loose dress which daughter brought back from her trip with a school group to Indonesia.
It's light cotton, in a batik design. I have got knickers on!
I like it so much that I think I'll try to make another like it - take a pattern off it.

merlotgran Tue 20-Jun-17 16:40:33

Some very old baggy green trousers from God knows where, beige and white loose fitting top from Bon Marché and nothing on my feet because I'm indoors sitting near the fan.

It'll be Crocs when I go out to water the plants.

Galen Tue 20-Jun-17 16:38:12

Yellow sun top from East and Betty Barclay white shorts.
Windows in lounge open fore and aft and a very pleasant breeze wafting through.
It's too hot to sit outside at 31 degrees, even under the shade of the vine!

Ana Tue 20-Jun-17 16:36:47

Thought for a minute there you intended wearing the thick running socks for the wedding, Maggie! grin
(the heat's obvously got to me...)

Maggiemaybe Tue 20-Jun-17 16:33:15

Oh, sorry, not classy - playful and nonchalant. smile

Maggiemaybe Tue 20-Jun-17 16:32:42

A very creased green linen skirt that my DC would remember me wearing in their childhood, a hand-me-down vest top from DD2. Plus a pair of bright blue satin shoes with 4 inch block heels and a pair of thick running socks, as I'm trying to stretch them over the bunion for a wedding on Saturday. Classy as ever.

Grannyknot Tue 20-Jun-17 16:08:04

Bare feet, skirt tucked in to my knickers at the sides, and a vest top that is usually an undergarment smile - sitting squarely in front of the fan.

MawBroon Tue 20-Jun-17 15:54:41

"Playful and nonchalant "white jeans (Per Una bling) anda blue and white spotted Phase 8 top I bought 2 years ago.
(I don't really like the top any more so I am attempting to "wear it out" how daft is that)

Jayh Tue 20-Jun-17 15:47:22

I am wearing a summer dress bought years ago for a wedding. Probably too smart for lounging in the garden but as it is from Planet I want my money's worth. In fact I might even wear a hat. ?

annsixty Tue 20-Jun-17 15:34:02

Blue and white striped crops from Leading Labels, very good value, and a turquoise tee shirt which doesn't actually match but I'm going nowhere.
Sandals by M&S (footgloves)

Riverwalk Tue 20-Jun-17 14:41:01

Yet again I'm reviving our playful fashion thread as in this heat my usual sartorial elegance goes out the window.

Today I'm rockin' a beige crop (5 years old from Walmart) and a rather grim 3 year old Fat Face top which I'm sick of. White veiny legs on display - all in all not a pretty sight and not very nonchalant!

I'd love to channel a long froaty frock - but at 5'2" can't quite carry it off.

What's everyone wearing today? smile
