Deliveries

Yesterday morning I received an email to say a package I was waiting for would be delivered that day. I changed my plans to be sure I was in (it's needed for a birthday this weekend), the delivery company are aware of a place I have designated to leave parcels if I am out and I also had someone working in the garden for most of the day. At around 2.15 I received another email to say a delivery had been attempted!! After checking the safe place and speaking to the gardener I emailed the company who replied that their records showed a delivery had been attempted but no-one was home, but that they could track where the delivery van had been. Last night at around 6.30 my doorbell rang and a rather pissed off looking delivery man shoved the parcel into my hand and stalked off! My guess, he had knocked off early to watch the football and my email had meant he had been found out! I have mixed emotions, glad I have my parcel but a bit guilty I may have got him into trouble!

smile so many times we've had that email - "called, no-one at home". I think they either run out of time or can't be bothered.
My friend's son has a delivery job and says the targets are impossible to achieve.

Same happened to me yesterday. I got the email saying it would be delivered that day and that I would be sent a more exact time soon. Not a peep more. On checking the website itsaid there was a problem. I rang and was told the driver couldn't find my address...funny, he's delivered here many times before. The football has a lot to answer for.
He is due to try again in an hour and I shall find it hard to keep my mouth shut!
